Awesome get and a much needed piece to be added at the LB position for this class! Definitely a great recruiting job by the staff in getting him out of NJ away from ND and PSU. Between the recent commits from Phillips, Henry, and Simon, the defensive side of this class is taking shape in a great way.
Cody Simon – An Ohio State commit from Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peters Prep, Simon is maybe not the big, physical freak some of these other guys in the group are at 6-foot-1, 217 pounds, but he is very quick and plays with great control. He is always in excellent position whether it be in cat and mouse or coverage. He was one of the backers with the best technique.
“One of the things I like about (Day) is the way the players talk about him when he’s not around,” the 6-foot-1, 218-pound Simon said. “I’ve only heard good things about him, and how much of a team guy he is. They really like him, and that really speaks to his character and how he is since his players talk about him with such a high opinion.
“That’s what I like about him. He’s a great guy and he’s a team player. I just really enjoy him.”
