LB Chris Spielman (2x All-American, 4x Pro Bowl, 3x All-Pro, CFB HOF)

I can think of no better use of my 10,000th post than to use it to honor this Buckeye family. Chris and his wife are everything that is right about Ohio State, and I wish for God to grant them strength and courage as they get through this unbelieveably difficult time. Stefanie, we will miss you, but heaven is a better place now.

Condolences to Chris and the Spielman family from a LSU Tiger fan, but I was also a Chris Spielman fan. A hell of a player whose pro career was cut short by injury. More importantly, Chris is a hell of a man, husband, and father. They aren't made any better.

Further proof from that old Billy Joel tune that Only the Good Die Young.

So sad. That woman has been sick for nearly her children's entire lives. They've barely known a healthy mom. Such a tragedy. Stay strong, Spielmans. My heart goes out to you.

I was reading through this thread and saw that their youngest daughter was the first in the entire world to be born while Stephanie was on a certain type of cancer medicine. Truly an amazing woman. RIP.

Chris is on right now...he is talking about how much it meant to him to see the "SS" Buckeye leaf on the helmets Sat.

Austin Spitler presented him, this week, with a #36 throw back helmet with the "SS" sticker.

He was very touched....very complimentary of Tress.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Former football star Chris Spielman will be back on the radio today for the first time since his wife's death last Thursday.

Spielman said this morning that his wife, Stefanie, who publicly fought breast cancer for more than 10 years and helped raise millions for breast-cancer research, left him and their four children specific instructions about what to do after her death.

"Don't any of you ever use my death as an excuse for anything, but motivation for everything," she said in a video recording she left for them.

Spielman will spend part of the show today thanking listeners for the support they have shown his family in the last week, he said.

The Big Show airs today on WBNS (97.1 FM) from 1 to 3 p.m

If you are not listening to him right now, do. If you are out of CBus, listen on 1460thefan.com, or wait and download the podcast. What a powerful impact she made on him and wow do I respect this man and what he stands for.
