That being said, I think Schegel's reaction was over the top.

I guess Mike Curtis was before your time because if you knew him you would know what "over the top" really is to a fan running on to a football field.

The slamming, while admittedly awesome, was not necessary and could be problematic. He had control and only had to wait a few seconds for security to get there.

Best thing the kid can do is take his punishment, pay his fine, publicly admit he was a drunken ass and laugh it off. It's not as if Schlegel planted a boot into his rib cage or gave him The People's Elbow after he was down.

Hell, I want a print of it signed by both of them, and if the kid acts like a douche and sues Schlegel and/or the university it kinda ruins it for me.

Even after the "Event staff" guy was leading the guy away, Schlegel tries to get a last push in on the kid. He was definitely a little hopped up. Definitely not worth anything legal, but I think Anthony should just leave it to the personnel whose job it is to take care of guys like that.

Or what could have happened if he didn't tackle him? This happened the same weekend. The police/security aren't as proficient at tackling. Look how close a 10 year old kid almost gets taken out.
