As great as Chris was, think about this. How can you retire "Spielman #36" and not retire "Cousineau #36" or "Marek #36."

Hypothetically, because none of us are fortune tellers, if A.J. wins First Team All Big-Ten three consecutive years, Butkus, Lombardi, and Walter Camp (twice each), and First Team All-American two consecutive years; you don't think he would--at some point down the road, of course--be deserving of a retired jersey?

We have a ton of two-time All Americans, and a few three-time All Americans, who will never even be thought of when considering a retired jersey. Let me repeat myself: No Heisman Trophy = No retired jersey

This isn't NC State. Where they honor all of their first round draft picks. The best of the best are the ones given an honor as high as having ones jersey number retired. Katzenmoyer and Pace didn't even play all four years, and A.J., as good as he is, won't get his name with the number 47 unless something incredible happens. We'd probably have to winthe NC next year, with him as our clear leader, and he'd have to put up a shitload of impressive stats as well.

Good point made here by "Dubs"........... Andy Katzenmoyrer was solid in his sophmore year and made some big hits, but in his Junior year he seemed lost out there at times without the help of guys like Bellisari, Fickell, Finkes and the rest. People talk about Penn State being what they call "Linebacker University" but Ohio State held thier own as well and we still do.

One of the most incredible plays I have seen. He really laid out and showed unbelievable hands. Bob Davie said it well: he is a warrior.

he never gave up on the ball... the receiver pulled up because the ball was thrown too far and Hawk just accellerated made a very nice grab.... great athleticism. he's a STUD.

Do we have any idea whether he is thinking of leaving? I would hate for him to do so, and I think he still needs another year to be THE linebacker, but still, I'm a little worried. Just wondered about rumors.

I went through each game logs and it shows that he actually had 101 tackles coming into this game against MSU. He now has 111.
I didn't realize it but it said he had 20 total tackles against Wisconsin ...

That's what I used. Says 101 total tackles. I guess that haven't counted today's game.

I made an error and he did have 101 not 102 before this game. Now has 111.

He ain't going anywhere, regardless of any rumors you may have hallucinated, er, heard...
