Agree here. Was never a fan of his comedic roles. My favorites were 'The Fisher King', 'Good Will Hunting', 'Insomnia', and 'One Hour Photo'. I particularly like the last two because I love it when an actor plays against type.

More importantly, the guy gave tirelessly to the USO, and seemed to really "get it."

Gone too soon.
I have to agree on all points. A VERY underestimated dramatic actor. I haven't seen this one mentioned yet, but one of my favorites of his roles was as the defrocked psychiatrist in Kenneth Branagh's 'Dead Again' (early '90s). Although he's only on screen for no more than 10 minutes, I think he virtually steals the picture. Definitely worth a look.

In the meantime, RIP.

Horrible comedian.
Stupid comment. Humor is very personal, and had you said simply you don't find him funny, no problem. But I think his popularity as a comedian and as a comic actor puts the lie to what you've said.

RIP. Many, many veterans will miss the many performances he made in front of the troops in combat zones. This modern-day Bob Hope (and I personally found Hope to be completely unfunny) will be mourned by servicemen of many ages.

Not as much of an annoyance as it must be to her family, but Lauren is and isn't dead, depending on who you read.

http://www.latimes.com/entertainmen...-et-mn-lauren-bacall-dies-20140812-story.html

Lauren Bacall, the smoky-voiced movie legend who taught Humphrey Bogart how to whistle in "To Have and Have Not," has died at the age of 89, according to her family.

Lauren Bacall Death Hoax Dismissed Since Actress Is ‘Alive And Well’

On Tuesday (August 12) the actress' reps officially confirmed that Lauren Bacall is not dead. “She joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. She's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

R.I.P., or not, Ms. Bacall. Although, the majority opinion seems to be that she has, indeed, passed.

About 17. And if you count the Hiltons, Spears, Gagas, Lohans, Cyruses and the rest of the Hollyweird trash, there are a lot of perfectly untalented assclowns out there that could complete the trifecta

sounds like we need to get a "people who pass for entertainers in the fucked up day and age in which we live" deep sea fishing charter going.

I'll chip in for some gas and bait
