so he lacked humor and you lack tact. got it.
A guy I do not know dies, I do not fawn over him like the masses, so I now lack tact? Got it.

You posted notice of his death in a celebrity death pool thread and want to talk about tact? Got it.:roll1:

Horrible comedian. If you thought he was funny, maybe you should teach ADHD students......I'm sure it would be a real scream for you.

Much better dramatic actor.

Tried listening to some of his old stuff on XM and didn't laugh once.

He was funny on the TV show as Mork; however, you are right he may have been a better actor than an actual stand up comedian. He had numerous very good movies. I liked some of his "less dramatic rolls" the best though. My favorites include Popeye, Club Paradise, and Good Morning Vietnam. I think Club Paradise may have lost money, I may be the only person that actually liked it.

I couldn't take more than a couple minutes of his stand up. But his films are among some of my favorites.

The world according to garp was one I haven't seen many mention, but I dug it.

Also, dude could grow a serious beard.

You would be wrong.

Every time I take a NYC cab I think of the pilot landing at the resort in that movie.

If anyone likes dark comedies go watch Shakes the clown and death to smoochie. Funny as hell if you enjoy the genre.

Agree here. Was never a fan of his comedic roles. My favorites were 'The Fisher King', 'Good Will Hunting', 'Insomnia', and 'One Hour Photo'. I particularly like the last two because I love it when an actor plays against type.

More importantly, the guy gave tirelessly to the USO, and seemed to really "get it."

Gone too soon.

Huge fan of his movies and of course Mork and Mindy. He's a legend. Good Morning Vietnam and Patch Adams are some of his best work. He is really going to be missed. And I agree with @OSU_Buckguy, his passing will have a ripple effect in Hollywood and beyond.

The man's demons were just too much.
