Announcer: For this evening's performance, the role of Jean Valjean will be played by Kirk Cameron.
Stewie: OH! Oh, unbelieveable! Oh my God! How lucky are we, huh? 'Hey Stewie, what are you doing tonight?' 'Oh, nothing, just watching KIRK CAMERON play Jean Valjean!' Oh my God! Curtain up!

My brother was over on Saturday and subjected me to a couple of abortions after the OSU game:

Meet the Spartans
Semi-Pro
Knocked Up

The first two I hadn't seen and wished I'd have kept it that way. Love Knocked Up...one of those movies I typically watch anytime I come across it on HBO.

Semi-Pro is one of the worst comedies I've ever seen, if not the worst. That being said, I refuse to watch Friedberg & Seltzer films (Meet the Spartans, etc). Those guys actually take themselves seriously and think they're making legit comedies. :shake:

I saw "Taken" a little while ago. Now i'm not movie expert and i'm fairly easy to impress movie wise (Predator, Rocky, Commando, etc) so this is probably just a recent feeling I have. I think this is one of the best action movies I've seen. You will simply never hate "the bad guys" as much as you will in this movie.

Not to be a spoiler but the movie shows a pretty graphic portrait of the sex trafficking ring, and the way young girls can be abducted and forced into some horrible horrible things. It builds the characters as the worst of the worst humans out there simply for the fact of stealing many girls innocents etc.

Now i'm not good at all with torture movies etc, and after I watched the first SAW movie I never watched another one. I just don't dig that, but in this movie not to sound horrible but I felt a sense of justification when he tortured one of the people who stole his daughter. I mean its just a movie haha but damn Liam was truely a bad ass. I thought the first 10-15 minutes could've been scripted better, but when when the chase for his daughter was finally on Liam as stated was a BAMF. 10/10

As far as on DVD. My cable had been out for like 2-3 days for some damn reason so I was wathcing DVD's from home. I rewatched Ghostbusters 1/2 haha...

Some DVD options:

Man On Wire:
Man on Wire (2008)
Documentary about the Frenchman who walked on a wire strung between the WTC Towers in 1974, made even more amazing because they had the wherewithal to film and photograph their own process back then.

Diary:
Mon seung (2006)
Pang Brothers. Interesting thriller/horror. Apologize ahead of time, assume some of you astute Asian film buffs have seen this already.

Tuya's Marriage:
Tuya de hun shi (2006)
China. Had some success in the awards circuit couple years back.
Harsh existence in today's Mongolia. Weathered, but pretty young mother & wife has to consider survival options when hubby goes down from injury. Nice cinematog, intersting peek at ancient customs against back drop of modern existence. Complex but simple times; Cell phones and transportation by Camel. Scuffle and fight choreography was bad to ridiculous, but good film for the gals nevertheless.
