Just watched Whiplash.

Oh yeah.

Great movie and a well deserved Oscar for a great Buckeye.

I'm drinking so YMMV. Fuck you.

I don't watch movies from the middle and I don't watch movies with commercials on TV. So it is what it is and I'm about to watch what is considered a classic by most everyone that's seen it. Whatever.

Hope its good.

Mrs.RugbyBuck is forcing me to see Whiskey Tango Fcuknozzle this weekend because I've made her see The Revenant, 13 Hours, and The Witch. After the fcuking Witch, I should be forced to sit like the chicken at the beginning of Robot Chicken and watch everything Tina Fey has done in the last five years.

I'm on the fence where Tina Fey is concerned. A lot of her stuff makes me laugh, some of it comes of as pretentious and douchey. WTF seems like a lesser of two evils. I'd take it over a majority of chick flicks. Mrs. KSB usually rewards me if sit through a chick movie without bitching. Maybe it'll work out for you.

12 years a slave: so I had mixed feelings about it, maybe my expectations were too high. I get the sent to slavery after being free angle, but otherwise there was nothing really unique here to me. Brad Pitt being cast was a bit...odd. And i dont want to insult the actress at all, but what did the woman who played Patsy do for an Oscar? It was sort of like the Denzel character in Glory, but with less depth and leaning very heavily on the traditional stereotypes of plantation society. I think everyone did well with what they were given, but I don't think they were given enough. It almost had a "blockbuster" feel to it to me, where they knew they were going to by hyping for awards so they didn't want to go too deep. Glory, Roots, even Amistad did more in that regard. 3/5 for me
