Netflix actually put this in my "Suggestions to Watch" and gave it like 4 1/2 stars. I should have known someone on BP had seen it and would suggest it. Now, instead of questioning my choices in movies, I can go ahead and check it out this weekend.
I hate that Netflix continues to limit the amount of visible content on netflix instant. One of the only ways to find other content was to finish something and click on one of the 2-3 other similar titles they recommended afterwards. They've now removed this to pimp Orange is the New Black for the hundredth time.

I find the "because you watched" section to be very redundant and not nearly as useful for finding new titles.

Finally checked out 30 Days of Night. Thought I would be disappointed, bit I wasnt, it was pretty good, albeit over-the-top in spots. I like that it deviated from the classic Bela Lugosi style of Vamp. 3.5/5

Transformers: Age of Extinction. That was some pretty bad-ass robot action, and yep, I still want more Michael Bay Transformers movies. Say what you will, but these are great popcorn, I just want to watch shit explode in ridiculous ways/amounts movies. Watching Optimus ride a dinobot was great.

The Village.

Widely disliked by critics, I still think this was a pretty strong movie. Implied, deep rooted suspense and creepiness made this a far more visceral movie than the lazy bloodbaths found in other films (or primetime network TV). Joaquin and Adrien are their usual talented selves but Bryce Dallas Howard makes this movie special.

What a spectacular fall from grace for M Night Shyamalan (probably in part because America couldn't appreciate Unbreakable or The Village).

Next up:

Death at a Funeral. Still one of the most outrageously funny films I've ever seen, and no, I'm not talking about the repackaged version they shamelessly released 3 years later.

Couldn't appreciate it? MNS was a one trick pony who went for the big twist...when that was blatantly obvious 5 minutes into the movie, he succeeding in wasting a stellar cast. I get that people think American audiences aren't sophisticated, but sometimes the movies are just bad.

Was he overhyped? Sure, but Unbreakable and The Village stand above a lot of what Hollywood churns out in my opinion and Signs was enjoyable. Perhaps his flaw was making everything about the twist so people fail to appreciate the journey along the way.

Netflix pisses me off. Except for its own shows it is pretty worthless now.

Cool story bro time: Way back when Netflix was just DVDs I let a guy at work share my account. I used his login to send every bad almost-porn flick possible. I remember one was Curse of the Erotic Tiki. This was all in hopes that his wife would eventually look and get mad. A year passed and it finally happened (she was very prude). It was epic.
