Saw boyhood the other night. Pretty good. Especially if you're a young adult, and probably more specifically a male. I say that because since it actually follows the main character as he grows older in real life, it brought me back to my childhood and growing up, whereas others may not connect as much. Im sure it would still be a good move for all age groups, but I think a younger crowd may have an extra connection with it.

Just finished Shawshank Redemption, yet again, and the movie just gets better for me every time. Of course, part of why I enjoy it so much is seeing familiar buildings and views from my home town area, but it really is a solid film. It also may be my favorite role that I've seen Morgan Freeman in.

Exhibit A: If you like found footage films, I would put this at or near the very top. I was very pleasantly surprised. As with all of them, the ending is preordained, but one thing the British are good at is subtlety intertwined with what's in your face...they may do that better than anyone. Buried beneath the overall story (which was timely as it took place right before 2008) are the stereotyped nuances of suburban life...all done by a no-name cast who were featured (or not) just enough to keep it interesting...a couple of moments were just very uncomfortable to watch. Solid 4/5, very enjoyable if you like this kind of genre, and proves as almost all movies do that Europe makes a way better film than America does 95% of the time.
