The Wolverine. I thought it was really good. I really enjoyed the stand alone feel to it that it had over the other X-Men films.

My only question was the credit scene. I can only assume it has something to do with the new X-Men movie that is coming out? Was kind of confusing.

There is some really fun and memorable music in these flicks.

I have a crush on Aubrey Plaza.

McLovin & Cousin Maeby have apparently been permanently typecast as high schoolers.

Vince Vaughn being Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson being Owen Wilson.

Oddly both of these movies had a character use the term 'finger blast' which I'd never heard before. It's always been finger banging to me.

Based on the Robert Hansen case. Originally got it because as Robert Ebert once said... John Cusack has hardly ever made a bad film. This is not a bad film, it's actually a very good one and Cusack is brilliant in it. The pleasant surprise is that Cage is very, very good in his role as Detective Glenn Flothe. Cage is a hell of an actor when he wants to be, and he picked this movie to be one.

I'd call him bi-polar as an actor. He makes some really odd choices in roles, and I think that's hurt the perception of him as an actor. But, I think his work in 'Adaptation' and 'Matchstick Men' are two of the finest performances of the last 10-15 years from anybody.

Saw 'Out of the Furnace' last night. Christian Bales is pretty damned good. I'd give it a B+.
I've been wanting to see that, of course because it isn't making money hand over fist they are labeling it as a bust.

Likely end up renting it when it comes out. How was the music in the movie, given that it's from the director of Crazy Heart?

I, personally, think he is a fine actor, one of my favorites actually. Dude takes on a LOT of roles, and seems to be pretty fearless when it comes to those challenges. Adaptation was excellent. Matchstick men, also very good. I also think about Raising Arizona, Peggy Sue got Married, Lord of War. I liked The Weatherman too. Knowing wasn't too bad really, and The Frozen Ground I thoroughly enjoyed, but I also like a ton of John Cusack's work too. I think he might just like his job. There are a couple of roles in there that he mighta shoulda won an academy award for OTHER than Leaving Las Vegas, which he won. I'll gladly take the Ghost Riders, the Con Air's and the National Treasures, The Season of the Witch, The Rock and Face Off for the inevitable gem that he will eventually turn up in, like Moonstruck, Vampires Kiss(not a favorite, but generally well received), City of Angels, Valley Girl, Wild at Heart, Honeymoon in Vegas, etc. Even if you don't like some of those movies, it's still a pretty strong resume.

Music was kick ass....haunting and numb.....Pearl Jam and others.

Usually if a movie hasn't made a ton of money it's one I want to see. Occasionally a good movie finds mass appeal but not often. Parking lot was packed but very few in our theatre....couldn't imagine what all those cars were there for....maybe Hobit? I'd see that but the rest of the crap? Not me.
