Rewatched kil bill for the first time in forever. Forgot how good it is. Far greater than inglorious basterds and Django.

I also lol'd at the making of kill bill segment on the DVD when tanertino says. "I was making pulp fiction when I got this idea for a revenge movie"

Woody Allenish chick flick with Chris Rock as an NPR/Village Voice personality with a French girlfriend whose family comes to visit. I really like Chris getting a chance to play a normal guy rather than a de-facto comedic roll. Having some experience with culture clash in a relationship I dug it and definitely prefer it to Delby's earlier '2 Days In Paris' (FU Adam Goldberg).

Again, Hollywood please give Chris Rock more rolls where he's not pigeon-holed as the black comedian.

Solid turn by Denzel. Incredibly...detailed? Nuanced? performance. Really intense/gripping storyline, one of the best I've seen from the 2012 crop. 8/10.

Very meh. Some nice moments, but overall a semi-boring anti-fracking borderline propaganda film. It seemed they were more bent on making fracking look evil, and the storyline took a real hit. Too bad, because I was really looking forward to this one. 5/10.

"The Assassination of Jesse James by the... blah, blah...". Holy Siht, the fcuking movie was more boring than the title. I actually fell asleep... TWICE. I was ready to shoot myself in the back to make it stop.

I tend to live by the "to each his own" when it comes to movies, but... REALLY? I cannot fathom how even if you didn't like the movie you found it to be "boring".

I hate to say it, but I found that movie to be miserable as well. Just couldn't get into it at all. Honestly, I was the same way with Syriana (And a ton of people call me crazy for not enjoying that one).

I was surprised, TAoJJ seemed like the type of movie I would like.

With you on Syriana, as well, if not quite to the level TAoJJ. Not sure what that says about either of us.

Both Vol 1 and Vol 2 are in the Starz rotation now, and I watched both again this past weekend as well. Only my second time through and I picked up on so many more homages to the old kung-fu/samurai movies from the 60s and 70s.

Tarantino is one director that I have enjoyed almost everything he has done. I have not seen Django yet, but have seen everything else he has done so far. I think the fact he tries to make original stories is what I find most refreshing, since Hollywood in general is in a slump of remakes.

Had to pay back Mrs. Rugby Buck for having her order "The Assassination..." from Netflix (which she actually liked more than I) by watching "The Five-Year Anniversary" which seemed like a seven-year ordeal but at least succeeded in making the school up north look like the frozen hell that it is.

Are you talking about "The Five Year Engagement," with Jason Segal?

Watch City on Fire. My film major buddies in college forced me to watch it.

Man, Jason Segal was so funny in that.

Watching Gladiator again. Why? Because Hollywood hasn't made a good fucking movie in years. Oh wait, maybe there's another dorkfest comic book movie remake coming out that I don't know about...You fucking dorks...X-Men 28 vs. Batman IIX
