We checked a couple more off the Metro Goldwyn Mayer collection this weekend:

The Miracle Worker: As outstanding as everyone says it is, overacted in a couple of spots but otherwise very good. Bancroft and especially Patty Duke were pure gold. I'd give 4.5/5 and that's a 5/5 lean.

The Manchurian Candidate (1962): This one, and I might be in the very small minority, but I really hated. I mean it just sucked. The premise was OK. Some of the plot devices were cool. Angela Lansbury was very good. But the whole thing was just hard to follow in spots and the climax at the end was a complete dud. I haven't seen the 2004 remake, so I don't know if it was better or not. 2/5 for Angela Lansbury only, basically, and a few cool plot elements.

12 Angry Men: Sometimes the older films are overrated, but not this one...Academy Award Worthy and 5/5 stars, which I don't give very often.

If this is the "jury" movie that I'm thinking about, it's one of the greatest cinematic inquires into the human mind that I've ever seen.

Loved it. Great documentary directed by Cameron Crowe. PJ is my all time favorite band, so it was great seeing so much early video and watching how the band formed after Andy Wood died.

It's a fluff piece at times and didn't really delve into a lot of the bands issues in regards to the firing of Abbruzzese in 94, or the tragedy of the Roskilde festival in Denmark in 2001, which was just briefly mentioned.

But, if you're a fan of Pearl Jam, or even just in your mid 30's and were into the grunge scene of the early 90's, it's worth a watch.

Saw "Moneyball".

It was OK, but I don't understand the Oscar buzz. It was a decent movie of a story I basically knew (without reading the book), but I didn't think it was anything special.

Watched the new Muppets movie (due to limited options, but was still free).... It had it's funny moments. The best move for the movie was having Jack Black and Zach Galifianakis play significant supporting roles. Zach played the role of Hobo Joe, and Jack was Animal's support group sponsor... Decently funny, plot was a little ridiculous, but it was the Muppets... What do you expect.

I really liked The Muppets.

Jason Segal is a goofball.
