Saw 3 movies this weekend:

Winter's Bone: I guess it's just me judging by the reviews, but I was really disappointed in this one. The cinementography was good, but the dialogue was constantly mumbled and I thought the story telling and the ending both pretty much sucked, which was disappointing to me. Don't get the Oscar hype.

King's Speech: Was really surprised how much I liked this one after my wife dragged me to it. Make no mistake, I hate the royals and the premise of the movie is boring as fuck, but the acting was really good and they spiced it up as much as they could given the droll subject matter.

The Girl Who Played with Fire: Awesome, we saw Dragon Tattoo last weekend and followed it up this weekend with the second one. These movies are totally engaging and I can't wait to see Hornet's Nest ASAP.

Saw Hornets Nest on blu ray a couple of days ago..it was almost as good as Dragon Tattoo...and it was a continuation of the second movie..awesome trilogy..I wonder how the US versions will stack up against the originals...I don't see how someone could be better than Rapace..she's amazing..

Saw all episodes of The Pacific on Blu Ray this past week. Good series, nowhere near Band of Brothers though. The first 4 episodes are confusing especially if you haven't read the books or aren't familiar with the stories being told. (I read one book and of course read the summary of all 3 stories and was still confused). After the 5th episode there was a much more character development and the rest of the series was great. It is definitely worth watching, but it is hard to follow perfection.

thanks for the review. I was wondering if I should invest in this since I already have BOB on bluray. General consensus seems to be it's not nearly as good as BOB, but still probably worth watching at some point in the future.

The John Wayne version was better. The girl in the new movie kept reminding me of Wednesday Addams.

The US versions are by and large never as good...Let Me In might have been the closest. I will stick to the foreign films every time...
