Who needs to deceive friggin' Colorado? I love how Kiffin goes on to say that they do this kind of thing all the time, and will continue to do it, despite the fact that theres a rule against changing jersey numbers with the intention to deceive an opponent.

The only time I'm aware of that a player is allowed to change a jersey is if they're an eligible receiver, as far as I remember. Like...if you have an unbalanced line with an extra tackle, I think you can allow that player to switch a jersey to designate them as a legal receiver. I'm a little sketchy on this one though since I don't watch many teams that run that kind of offense.

USC's struggles point to Kiffin

What a difference a year makes. Whatever respect Lane Kiffin built up last season for guiding the Trojans to a 10-2 record has been whittled away. Kiffin's antics during the season are head-scratching, making things often seem to be a lot harder than they need to be. The Trojans made a month's worth of mistakes in the Desert on Saturday afternoon. This team seems to flop any time it's faced with pressure, and that all goes back to the head coach. Going into the season there was a lot of talk about a certain USC player potentially being the first pick in the draft. After two months of the season, it's clear the Trojans best player is sophomore WR Marqise Lee, not Matt Barkley.

Gotta wonder if Barkley is rethinking the decision to stay in school

not if he has any historical perspective. i can count successful NFL QBs who came out early on one hand.

the success correlation of qb's is related to games started, not years in a program. hardly any qb's start as true freshman. barkley's nfl prospects weren't improved by coming back.
