I've seen your Penn State fan video, and I've seen burning couches.

Never seen anything like either display at any SEC athletic contest in my 54 years.

Truth is everyone has their share of idiots. The "your conference is bad while our fans are all angels" spiel sounds like so many Lilliputians and Blephescuans arguing about egg cracking.
I've seen it twice in one year in Gville.

...and I've never seen any burning couches in Columbus, despite being a season ticket holder for many years. Just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean that even more ridiculous things don't happen in SEC. After all, do we really need to retrieve the links to news stories of SEC fans shooting and biting one another over SEC football games? Seen any stories along those lines in Big Ten country (or any other conference, for that matter)? Me neither.

There have been some nasty fan incidents related to the Texas-Oklahoma Red River Shootout recently. Over there, sometimes it's just nuts.

Again, give one example. Give any example on this thread of an SEC recruiting practice that Nutria or Woof or I said we condoned that you Big 10 fans do not.

OK, sure. See the middle part of post #117, which you have apparently chosen to ignore throughout the course of this thread so far.

And the middle part of post #117 is an example of SEC fans on this thread condoning recruiting practices that Big 10 fans don't - how?

I know you are confused and think I am not answering your question, but that is because you changed the subject mid-thread from the above quoted discussion and ignored the pending question.

Answer me how post 117 is relevant to that exchange and then we will move on.

OK, just to make sure we are all saying the same thing:

You do not condone the over-signing of football recruits by SEC member institutions that seem to violate the clause in the SEC Code of Ethics as stated.

10.3.1 Coaches shall only recruit prospective student-athletes who have the necessary academic background to succeed as
students at his/her institution.
10.3.2 In determining a prospective student-athlete's initial eligibility status, institutions shall be responsible for making every
effort to assure that credentials utilized to determine eligibility are accurate and authentic.

Also, the questionable oversigning of recruits on NLOID when it apparently states in your "Code of Ethics" that this is not to be done is a headscratcher.

Edit: By the way, I said "SEC Code of Ethics" entirely with a straight face. Progress, people, progress.

But I stayed in South Carolina at a cheap motel because I couldn't afford Augusta. I got way laid on finishing my post by a private conversation I was having with my new best Buckeye friend via rep exchanges :p

Indeed my bad Bill. I have never been to the home of the Chicken Curse to watch a game, but have been in South Carolina.

So you admit that this SEC practice is contrary to the SEC Code of Ethics? Along those lines, do you admit that the same is unethical?

I'm trying to see if you'll actually speak out against a clear violation of the SEC's Code of Ethics, rather than simply respond by saying, "The Big Ten does bad things too," which has been your usual response so far in this thread.

I've been to one football game there. But it was an NFL exhibition game with the Bears.

If you ever go, stay away from the boiled peanuts.

Only been through it on my way to Chucktown. Wouldn't stop for the world. Keep on moving towards the Ocean - Shrimp and Grits are an hour away.
