Lady Bucks Basketball Thread

Thanks to the Big Ten Champion Lady Bucks for an incredible season. It is so incredibly unfortunate that an injury to a key player so totally interfered with what you might have accomplished.

We are incredibly proud of you!

An injury to a key player (who isn't the best player) doensn't explain a loss to Marist. Frankly, that's unacceptable for a program like OSU.

Foster's got some explaining to do.

There called upsets. They happen every year. Life would really suck for you if Ohio State won national championships in every sport. You'd have nothing to be negative about.... I am sure you'd figure something out.

Brandie Hoskins was the emotional leader of this team. She delivered 14 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game. Losing her was a tremendous blow.

Should they have beaten Marist anyway? This is a team that imploded the last three games of the year without Hoskins. Clearly, they are not the team they could have been and the frustrations could be witnessed in Davenport's behavior. This was supposed to be their year, without Hoskins it wasn't.

Tibs is right that this suggests that the coaching staff did not have the Lady Bucks prepared. However, it is unlikely that, even if they did, this team would have gone beyond the Sweet 16.

For my part, I would prefer to focus on the successful run they had in the Big Ten and the regular season as a whole. It was an impressive performance.

Well done on an outstanding season, Lady Buckeyes!

actually in WBB they occur a lot less. Because there is less talent to go around.

Congrats to the Women's team on a fine season.

This team will always be part of this accomplishment:

Ohio State was the first athletic program to win outright conference championships in Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, and Division 1A (now Bowl Subdivision) Football in the same school year.

Nobody said they happened more or less, just that they happen. As I said before they could have run the table, won every game by 30 and you would still find something to whine about. I don't even know why I bother to reply to your ignorant posts. You can't even come up with an argument that supports your stance. Just more negativity. You really need to get laid. I am sure there are some nasty prostitutes in the greater Pittsburgh area that would stoop to coming home with you for the right price. :pimp: I could be wrong. Good luck in life tibs... you need it.

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The season's end caught the Ohio State women's basketball team unprepared last night in Maples Pavilion almost as if a dam had burst and a wall of water had swept them all away.
That's how the flood of emotions felt anyway after the Big Ten champion Buckeyes were bounced unceremoniously from the NCAA Tournament by tiny Marist College in a stunning 67-63 first-round upset. Ohio State, the fourth seed in the Dayton Regional, couldn't solve the swarming defense favored by the 13th-seeded Red Foxes or stop the outside shooting of guard Julianne Viani. The combination proved fatal and blunted a 40-22 edge OSU had on the boards.

Cont'd...
