THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. ? As harsh as it might seem, the Ohio State women?s basketball team already appeared to be moving forward yesterday in the crushing wake of the season-ending injury to senior guard Brandie Hoskins. "We realize that she?s not going to be here," senior wing Stephanie Blanton said. "Brandie, her game, was very unique. No one on the team has her style of game. No one can try to be like her. They have to be themselves and play to their own capabilities. Everybody has to step up."

Ohio State senior guard Brandie Hoskins will miss the rest of the basketball season after tearing her left Achilles' tendon Thursday in the Buckeyes' 70-67 win at Minnesota, the school said.
Hoskins, a Chaminade-Julienne High School graduate and the team's second-leading scorer, was injured late in the first half. Ohio State coach Jim Foster said Hoskins knew what had happened as she left the court.

Buckeyes Claim 15th Straight Win with 69-60 Victory at Illinois
By John Porentas
You have to give the Illini one thing, at least they were original.
Following the spate of "whiteouts" that has swept stadia and arenas across the nation and have now become borderline trite, the movers and shakers in Champaign-Urbana came up with something original. It was "Paper the Hall" day at Assembly Hall for the Illinois (16-8, 6-6 Big Ten) vs. No. 4 OSU (23-1, 12-0) basketball game. The University partnered with the local newspaper, The Champaign News-Gazette, in a promotion in which just short of 10,000 tickets were given away in the hopes of creating a home-floor advantage for the Illini.

The Ladies probably can beat the men's team. You bunch of turkeys need to give the ladies as much support as the men's team. These ladies have been playing their hearts out and it hardly gets mentioned. Most of you should be ashamed. These ladies are just as good Buckeyes as the men are so where's the respect.
Get with the program !

The men's basketball tidbits thread has 229 posts.

This one has 223 now, quick, someone post 7 times quickly to catch up... :)
:tongue2: I think she was alluding to the fact that, outside of Grad, Coastal's was the only post about the Ladies last game. The poordue game has over 150 alone.

It was a good game for the ladies, especially in light that they had to win without Brandie. Very nice ladies

Considering our guys are on tv somewhere every game its much easier to comment on each game and players for us. We aren't slighting the ladies one bit, but as I am in Phoenix, Arizona, I don't get much chance to watch our ladies play. The last game I got to watch was the Oklahoma game and it was awesome. Assuming most posters are in the same spot I am, its obvious why we don't get to post as much about our lady Bucks. Doesnt mean we arent supporting them one bit- its just harder to have info to comment on.
