I can only imagine, I have always told my wife that we will never get divorced... I just couldn't afford it.
Not that I would, I love my wife dearly, just get tired of seeing my freinds get fucked over.

Glad you are starting to get it. It is much better to post from a study that may have been funded by some crazy anti man group than personal experiences.
I could tell you about My uncle who is getting screwed by his crazy ex over money. Even though he had to change jobs and is making less than he did at the time of the divorce he payments did not go down at all. I could also tell you about how the ex wife tells his kids what a horrible father he is, even though he is the one that always buys them new things and has to fight to be able to get them for any holidays. Of course she doesn't do anything with them on the holidays...she just doesn't want them to have them.
But that is just one story, I won't bother you with the other stories I know....but that isn't important right now...whats important is that there is a random article that supports jc's arguement so he doesn't need to give any other answer. So please move on

I guess I didn't answer your question directly, which is no. I did, however, agree with you that men don't get custody often enough because courts are allowed to use gender as a consideration for who is the better parent. I think that is an improper gender stereotype that shouldn't be allowed. I'm not sure why it matters if I personally know anyone who has earned custody when I agreed with your overall point.

Divorce is a very confrontational proceeding, and I wouldn't be surprised that if in most circumstances both sides feel in the end that they are receiving the raw end of the deal. However, I just don't feel sorry for any man who has to pay money to his wife or kids. If money is what is most important to you then don't get married. If you choose to enter into a legal relationship and gain benefits from that relationship, you should know the consequences of what could happen if that relationship fails.

I have a friend who has a young daughter that has been traumatized by this whole Lachey-Simpson breakup. The Simpsons are the real enemy people!!!! What about the kids!!!!

So only the man should have to pay money? Is the man the only one who benifits from being married? I don't think it is a matter of people having a problem with paying money when they shoudl ahve to. I do know a couple of divorced people who pay child support and have no problem doing so. However there are allot of cases out there of a guy having to pay money to a woman after a divorce and the kid is treated horribly by the mother. Or what about when the wife is the one that cheats? Should the ex hubby still have to pay alamony?
One thing I support is that the money goes into an account that can only be used for the actually care of the children. be it grocery, cloths, sports doctor bills etc. Not just a check that goes to the ex wife that she could use however she wants.
And as far as your little comment I have done plenty of research myself on this and can tell you that their are horror stories from both sides, of people getting screwed on both sides. Hell I was just reading an article the other day about how women have beniffitted the most from no fault divorce laws. But I am sure you wouldn't care about that since it doesn't agree with you.

It is about the kids, there are guys, I would hope a very small percentage of guys that are just assholes. The problem I have is that the fathers send $$ and have absolutely no say so whatsoever on how the $$ is spent (see story of freind who pays almost $10k a year and still have to buy the kid decent clothes). If fathers are going to get screwed out of equal oportunity for custody they should at the very least get a say in what their $$ is spent on.
