KyLLLLLe KaLLLLLis (traitor with a platinum sombrero)

There's going to be fallout. Most of these kids are watching ESPN when they aren't working out. I've stated before in other recruits threads that if they don't choose Ohio State I wish them the best. They have to do what they feel is best for them, not us.

And K2. I agree with Mali wholeheartedly. You've splashed quite a bit of negativity in the recruiting forums.

Any OSU recruit is now, by extension, part of the media/opinion/s**t storm surrounding the program.

By Christmas, not only will everything be quieting down, but also the perspective will have changed. Hopefully, too, we'll have Fickell's first victory against scUM and he'll have a 3-yr contract.

I'm not saying our troubles will all go away; just most of the drama will.

Taking away all the emotion, Kyle is probably making a wise decision. If he commits elsewhere in the next month, then this is really bad for the Bucks. The longer he remains uncommitted the better it is for OSU. Let's face it, its a 4-5 year decision and we do not know who the coach will be beyond this year. This is a big decision for any 17-18 year old. Waiting, looking around and checking out all your options is in his best interest. Let's wish him the best! I hope he recommits in December. :oh:

cant blame the kid, in fact if i was his parent id recommend that he look around with the scenery change and make the best choice possible, wherever that might be.

I would as well. But I would not have had him publicly decommitt while looking around, if he were still considering Ohio State. Not sure he is at this point. Michigan would be smart to pressure him into an early verbal.

The season can't start soon enough. Once the recruits see that Gameday hasn't changed one bit, they'll come back around. Skull session will still be there; The Horseshoe; Script Ohio; the product on the field will still be superior; and the post-game Carmen, Ohio. I don't know about anybody else, but just the thought soothes the soul.

Anybody who doesn't see this as the "sky is falling" has the same blinders on they had when they were proclaiming tattoo-gate was no big deal.

We are OSU and we will recover. But what has happened in recruiting the past week or so could easily set us back a year. These are losses for OSU, gains for other Big Ten schools (potentially UM most of all) and hits to the perception of where our program is going. We can't one minute proclaim how important it is that Fickell kept Kallis and the next say it is not big deal when he bolts. It is a long ways till signing day - but this is not trending well. We need findings from the NCAA in August so we can move on.

And for the record I have no problem with Kallis doing what he feels is in his best interest.

All true.

A lot of the hand-wringing about it now though seems akin to crying over spilled milk not when you watch the glass fall over, but when you sit in it later.

I agree, I don't understand why he would do this.

I actually expect Hoke to give Kalis a hard sell this weekend. If Kalis doesn't commit, we may not have room. Michigan is running out of scholarships for offensive linemen. It'll be interesting to see whether he commits this weekend.

Meanwhile, I thought this quote from Kalis was interesting:
"The biggest thing about going to Michigan would be going against Tom (Strobel) and Chris Wormley every day (in practice). I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Wormley is going to Michigan."It seems that Hoke's early successes in Ohio has been supplementing more successes.

I know understand this success is mostly due to Ohio State's NCAA misfortunes, but this is also changing because Hoke is an Ohio native and has numerous connections to Ohio high school programs.

I still find it interesting what exactly BH has to sell. I can understand the sell of the university but he is less successful than RR was. He has yet to win more than .500 of his head coaching games. Interesting to see how well he holds this together if he doesnt have wins soon.

I look for tOSU to have a very good year and with the talent I just dont see many losses. This too shall pass and the foundation is still there. Go Bucks
