Had a great talk with Coach Meyer and the staff! Taking my official September 6th for the Virginia Tech game
9:37pm - 25 Aug 14
I'm not sure, is the Va Tech a big recruiting weekend?
@Damien_D1Harris
Sept. 6 Virginia TechGibson, Sweat, Jacques Patrick, Cager, Bowen and now Harris. These are top guys I hope to see in S&G. Plus LSU commit Toliver and Bama commit Brown. Not a lot of guys, but the ones that are coming are all at the very top of the talent pool.

Top-ranked RB Damien Harris (@Damien_D1Harris) told B/R's @KynonCodrington on scale of 1-10, his visit to Kentucky "was a definite 10."
#Buckeyes RB target Damien Harris (@Damien_D1Harris) had an “ok” night. 17 carries, 320 yards, 4 scores. Ho hum. Visits #OhioState tomorrow.
Kentucky coach Mark Stoops made quite a splash tonight when he took a helicopter from Lexington to Berea -- about a 40-minute trip by car -- and landed on the baseball field at Madison Southern High School. Stoops was there to see five-star running back Damien Harris play in a football game and his arrival drew a huge cheer in the crowd.

Stoops is obviously desperate to overshadow the official visit to Ohio State today. I don't think Harris will have helicopters on his mind when the crowd is deafening tonight, but if he does that could be a problem.
I've read speculation that the helicopter ride could have counted as Stoop's in-home visit. If so, I like where Ohio State stands much better right now, but it's clear why Kentucky is having so much success on the recruiting trail.
Big Ten take notes.
The helicopter is a cute touch for coaches to use. I remember Brian Kelly using that method while at UC, and even visiting 5 schools in one night. It's a nice method for schools to try and stand out from the powerhouses. But unfortunately the lower tier B1G teams still don't get it. And that's why Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, etc keep losing to lower tier SEC(and other conferences for that matter) schools for recruits

Well. I think this recruiting battle is over now.
