King bumps his gums on the pickle

Who wasn't a 1st rounder BTW. And what's wrong with subbing for an injured player? That's how Brady (arguably the best, certainly the most successful QB in the last 20 years) got his shot.

There is nothing wrong with it, but in keeping with the topic we are talking about guys that were drafted to be starters. Its like me asking for a list of starting WRs and someone naming Mike Furrey.

Or asking for a list of starting safeties and someone naming Mike Furrey.

Here is a list of the top ten corner picks JWinslow provided:
6. Pacman Jones (his personal demons don't change his performance pre-suspension)
8. Antrel Rolle
9. Carlos Rogers
8. DeAngelo Hall
10. Dunta Robinson
5. Terrance Newman
5. Quentin Jammer
7. Champ Bailey
10. Chris McAlister

4. Charles Woodson
10. Duane Starks
3. Shawn Springs
5. Bryant Westbrook
(2 ACLs halted a promising career)
10. Tom Knight

How many of these guys would you spend a top ten pick on? This list is over the course of years so take that into consideration. Would you be happy with the Browns spending a pick on a corner at 7? These are the facts, be honest. Which ones would you feel good about taking.

LOL I know, that was one of my main beefs with Mangini. He traded away anything with any value for depth and "foundation" but when it came down to it we had a guy the Lions let walk as a WR as our starting Safety.

He asked who I would take in front of Haden. I said Berry and Arenas, but just keep ignoring that part.

How many of those corners would you take?

Given the lack of depth the Browns have had in the defensive backfield, I'd take as many as possible if the situation is right.

The best NT is more valuable than the best CB, but I'd easily take that group of CBs.

Top-10 picks from the same era (I went back to 97 for CBs and got tired of compiling)

Depends on how you define "best"...

For overall best in the last 20 years, some would name Elway for overall talent.

For overall best in terms of super Bowls, some would name Troy Aikman.

Just sayin

No, he was quite specific in asking for CBs and you are still ignoring that part.

I cant win. I wish I worked at a job where I could find a guy that has one good year out of ten and consider him a success because at the rate I am paying him................

Its like saying Michael Clayton of the Bucs is a good WR because he had a good rookie year and was on the field after that, but never did anything.

Terrence Newman almost got benched this year. Those guys that are really really good, but not really because they are hurt or criminals, they dont count in your favor.

For every Deion Sanders or Champ Bailey there are 3 elite corners picked in the 3rd round and beyond, that is my point. You are taking a chance on Dunta Robinson when Nnamdi is picked way later.

Okay...

Tell you what... I'll take Joe Haden (and I don't care if the Browns take him or not, really)

And you tell me right now the name of a CB that will be taken in the 3rd round or later that that will have a better year than him.
Thats what you arent understanding, take another position. The odds are that you can get the same corner later with as many questions in a later round, why burn a top ten on them? Pick a QB or and OLB or a NT, someone that is a bit more proven and a premier position.

For the record I would take Arenas and Berry ahead of Haden.

I didnt mean any harm and I certainly didnt extend the same attitude towards any of you that I received for having a view that was differnt than yours.

I get that this is a message board and I wont cry about that stuff.

Not sure where I acted rude to anyone. I made one post and the regulars jumped on me, thats fine I am new and I know how it works.

Let's look at history, shall we?

Are you guys serious? And you are getting sarcastic with me?

Come at me bro!

Antagonistic, infantile attitude.

Pontificating does not count as a rebuttal.

Ad hominem attack on one's intellect.

[shakes head] I am completely over your head on this one.........

Why is that red dot under my name?

Inflammatory statement.

hatehineygate;1683592; said:
I have no idea what crux means, but Arenas will be better and Berry will be better. you may think its dumb that I dont know what that means, but ultimately my point was that taking a corner in the top 10 is draft suicide, feel free to go back and look. I just happend to give you the rest of teh 1st round because the the gang that attcked me here couldnt read that simple fact and their argument was lame.

Thanks for whoever got that red dot out of the CP, how do I find out who gave me a bad mark?

hatehineygate;1683597; said:
I got negged for what exactly? I didnt say anything wrong about any players or coaches or posters. I had views that veried from yours and you negged me. Thanks.

Selective memory regarding past posts.

For future reference, you get what you give on BP as a noob. If you're being "attacked" in your opinion; then it's probably because you're coming off as an asshole (or some other piece of work).

We're not talking about a top-3/5 pick here. We're talking about the next tier of talent, the Derrick Harveys of the world.

If I am the Browns and I find this caliber of player at #7
