At his point the news stories are all from 3rd party and/or anonymous sources. It is actually possible that:

1. Ohio State hasn't officially offered the position to Wilson.

2. Wilson is taking his time to consider the offer.

or

3. Ohio State is still negotiating with Wilson's agent on the contract.

1. Too much smoke for there not to be a fire.

2. I think Wilson will jump at it, seeing as he hasn't exactly been inundated with other job others (at least not publicly).

3. Of the three scenarios, this is the most likely. Could be in tandem with what @AuTX Buckeye posted above...

Makes me wonder if the surprise availability of Ryan Day might have changed things a bit. If Beck has really been on the way out to Texas for a few weeks, that would make the "talks with Wilson" as his replacement a good fit chronologically. If that hadn't been finalized, and Day pops up, is Wilson still valued as highly with his perceived baggage?

4. Ohio State leaked it to get a sense of how much, if any, negative impact it could have before they make it official
