Kevin Wilson (Former HC Tulsa)

I have zero concern about whatever he did at Indiana repeating itself at Ohio State.

As I stated earlier, Mickey Marotti is the check & balance on that.

And to be clear, the circumstances around Coach Wilson's separation from IU are pretty vague. The bulk of his IU players laud this hire. If there were legit, gross concerns I have a hard time finding a way that'd still be a secret in this day and age. At face value it does not appear he was physically abusive towards players, rather it seems his crime is that he could be something of a dick towards players he wrongly thought were sandbagging. One explanation doesn't fly, period, while the other is (at worst) almost romantically "old school" tough love.

I'll withhold judgement. Urban and Bob Stoops are very good friends. If this were an actual, actionable problem with his personality I'd think Urban and the rest of the world would already know.

Oh for fucks sake.... rag me all you want guys but this is the dumbest [Mark May]. We all know who is calling the plays so what's with the participation award? Why not just name everyone CO coordinator on offense?

Same thing goes for our starting line ups drop all the "OR" listings. We had 9 positions listed that way and if our culture is to be one of competition and winning or losing. Then reward the winners with being sole starters because they've EARNED IT.

I realize many people deserve to be starters but not everyone can be. There was a starting line up every week we rolled with and it's a disservice to them to list them as "ORS"

If Nick Bosa wants to be a starter then go take it from Sam Hubbard. Same thing for our staff if you want the coordinating spot then go be better then them.

I'm just shocked that UFM who puts as much emphasis on organizational structure as he does football doesn't understand that you can absolutely have too many generals.

Ok I'm done complaining with the 2nd best football coach in America. Freaking pumped it's official because it's on now!

Slow down. I don't know or even care if Day is Co-OC. Was merely responding to the other post that it was reported that way.

I get the impression that the working relationship between Wilson and his former boss had simply become untenable, after AD Glass commissioned two separate outside investigations of Wilson's program. Of course, Glass sort of had to do what he did, because everybody has to respond with ACTION when the twitterverse or whatever gets going these days, but it seems apparent they weren't able to reconcile their "philosophical differences" about "leadership style". The reduced buyout they agreed upon let them share the blame but also both save a little face: Wilson would have left with $0 if Glass had the "smoking gun" he was looking for, and this way Wilson is still able to make up his money somewhere else. Fortunately for us, that's here!

Watching the past few Indiana-Ohio State games from an Indiana perspective has me both frustrated and excited.

Their offense is always in good positions or the proper call. But holy smokes their talent was severely lacking.

Not sure I agree with that. By Indiana standards, they've had some nice talent. They've sent WR's, RB's, OL, and a QB to the NFL in recent years

He said by Indiana standards. Kevin Wilson went out and found some nice talent that was flying under the radar. He didn't just offer every kid in the ESPN 300, at least it didn't seem like he did. The Hoosiers had some talent, they just didn't have any depth.

You left out part of my post that said it's hard to watch from an Indiana perspective and not compare it to what I normally see. Especially when I'm watching trying to get a read on how it may translate to Ohio State's team. I think that's fair. They were talented by Indiana's standard, I guess, but that still isn't saying much.

I'm really confused. You're down on Wilson because he didn't recruit OSU level talent to Indiana?

The talent that was "finding and developing" at Indiana was talent that was passed upon by Ohio State 99% of the time. When was the last time Indiana beat Ohio State for a recruit to whom Ohio State issued a "commitable" offer? Me thinks never...
