Kevin (Tim “Asshat” Racadb) Warren (ex-B1G Commissioner)

The guaranteed California games are the one thing I can see happening, depending on how many protected "rivals" there end up being. If they're coming in with USC and Stanford I could see both of those being protected for Notre Dame. I don't think that's a big deal, honestly. They have a guaranteed California game every year now and we still do better than them out there. Adding regular California games to Ohio State's schedule can only help.

Perhaps, but it's the principle of the thing. You give these kiddie diddlers any special carve outs, and it will never end. The only way that this will work is if it's crystal clear from day one that they are an equal member with everyone else. Leave the slightest crack in the door, and I promise you that their machinations and manipulating for more will never end.

I'm absolutely of the opinion that we'll be better off if this doesn't work. Let them walk and then create Prestige Worldwide out West with Cal, Stanford, Washington and Oregon.

The B1G doesn't need to act like the guy at the 10 year reunion chasing the girl that got away in high school despite the fact that she's a deuce...deuce and a half...divorcee, and he's a god damned fighter pilot on the NASA shortlist.

You're not wrong, but I also think if it will happen. C'est la vie.

Reminds me of the ass-kicking scene in Cousin Vinney:

"So let's see, if we join the Big 10 we can lock in an annual game with USC and an occasional game with UCLA, but we might have to get two ass-kickings by Ohio State and Michigan in a single season. Or we can join the SEC and demand that we get to pick our pod so that we play Vanderbilt, Kentucky, USC light, Florida, Mississippi State, and Texas every year and never have Alabama and Georgia on our schedule in the same year. So probably more years without a solid ass-kicking except for the conference championship game which we can demand be played in Dublin every other year."

Might be going back to the NFL

As a Cincinnati Reds fan I have developed a morbid fascination with how an organization can be so bad at judging talent (of any sort) so consistently.

The Bears remind me a lot of the Reds. I can't imagine how badly you have to frame a question to get to the point that Kevin Warren seems like a good answer.

What's his end-game?
Is he trying to be the next NFL Commissioner?
Seems that the Bears President is a step down from B1G Commissioner.

Big organizations like the NFL will plant candidates to be the heir apparent in jobs like this just to get them in the org and start the assimilation process.

He's an empty suit. None of these jobs are hard.
