No. Kent State was never going to be a test. But it was going to see whether the team came out lethargic, or ready to play. We've seen them play down in the past plenty of times, and they could have easily game out sluggish and "whoa is me", but they didn't, they came out ready to play, and it's good to see.

Not sure I've ever witnessed them play in 'whoa is me' mode.

I attributed last years short yard and red zone issues to Hartline being new to play calling. But this year send more of the same.

I'm sure you were "fine" with it last week when we failed on 4th and 2. Guess what, a 30 YD FG and 3 more points could have been a W. I get it that this week it doesn't matter, but it's the decision making behind these calls that I hate. TAKE THE FUCKING POINTS IN THE FIRST HALF! Chase points in the 4th quarter when trailing.

Sorry, but it’s embarrassing to play in games like this. At least Kent State is better than Portland State.

One MAC team a year is fine. Two is too many. But this year it sort of works out as a get healthy game to regain confidence after the choke job in Austin.

They just got stuffed on 4th down so maybe they needed a slump buster.

He could have done a silly walk (Monty Python) into the end zone on that 3rd down. Seems like we need a more mobile qb against elite defenses, such as those that are ahead on the schedule.

If you want to build your kicker’s confidence, you should probably let him kick.
