I think he's very much a "just do exactly what the coaches tell me" type of player. Which is why I think the fixation on Smith in bigger games is directed by the coaches

But to his defense if I had JJ I would be hanging onto the ball too. JJ is more likely to be a successful play over Julian’s legs.

Khary Wilder needs to be in instead of Beau Atkinson. I'm also not so sure Pierce isn't the 4th best linebacker on the team.

Seems we learned the personnel lessons on offense a bit but I’m not sure we’re quite there on defense.

It’s clear Pettijohn and Alford are the best two LBs. I really like Alliegro though but too so maybe move to a 3-3-5? The defensive end opposite Jackson is not better than 5, 14 or 17.

Dates back to last season too. I don’t know how many lessons it takes. If he doesn’t have the awareness or confidence to look back vs. Kent State and a clean pocket then when does it happen…
