I'm fine with not kicking there. A field goal from a short distance with absolutely no impact on the outcome of the game. Not the "experience" Ohio State kickers need.

Agreed. I need the offense to practice the pressure of a big 4th down more than a kicker.

They came up short in that area of the field again. Do we not have much if it isn’t JJ taking the top off from mid field or further?

IMO they need to just CALL the QB run in the red zone.

I think he's very much a "just do exactly what the coaches tell me" type of player. Which is why I think the fixation on Smith in bigger games is directed by the coaches

yeah, we don't have any real play makers, and allow too many yards on the ground and too much time to QBs. Our only plays last week were when Texas kept giving us the ball, or just dropping them.

I’ll disagree. If the kicker is so insecure in his ability that knocking in a chip shot field goal is going to inspire him, he’s probably not cut out for the job. It was a glorified xp in a blowout. Not exactly a high pressure situation.
