Kareem WaLLker (dismissed from ttun)

Well then I guess it's hard to be concerned with the "departure". I certainly understand the staff wanting the "choke you over a game of checkers" kid.
I don't think it was because the staff didn't think he was a "choke you over a game of checkers" kid but rather because he didn't solidly reaffirm his commitment. The staff didn't want to mess around and have to wait until January or NLOID to get his real decision.

Hope he enjoys finishing his career up north for Chuck Heater. I've said it before no way JH is there 4 years.

Also this wasn't about him ditching us... he was balking we went out and got a guy we believe in and he left

Is the second quote above accurate?
I'll post this again for the benefit of those who didn't see it the first time around:

Here's the Kareem Walker-Antonio Williams timeline:

Everything happened very quickly are the events are clearly connected:

October 9: Walker announces an official visit to Michigan

October 10: Ohio State contacts Williams, who has been committed to Wisconsin for over 10 months

October 13: Alleged "ultimatum" from Urban Meyer to Walker giving him 24 hours to solidify his commitment

October 13: Williams announces an unofficial visit (his dime) to Ohio State for October 17th game versus Penn State.

October 14: Williams de-commits from Wisconsin and re-opens his recruitment

October 17: Williams visits Ohio State

October 18: Williams commits to Ohio State

October 30: Walker re-affirms commitment to Ohio State, talks about enrolling early

November 3: Walker de-commits from Ohio State

November 4: Walker says that official visit to Ohio State is unlikely.

My interpretation: There was an ultimatum from Urban Meyer to Kareem Walker (on or about October 13th), and Walker didn't re-affirm his commitment to Ohio State in time (or at all, despite the October 30th info). Meyer immediately cut ties with Walker (on or about October 14th), accepted a verbal from Antonio Williams (on October 18th), and Walker ended up committing to Michigan two months later.

Urban didn't need to be in the same spot at RB as he is now in with the QB position. Hence, he didn't screw around with Walker and acted quickly. In Urban's defense, he acted quickly with the QB position too but Wallace left us high and dry later in the game.

Especially when they feel the kid they're going to sign otherwise is every bit as good. Urban waits if he's a can't miss kid but as we have seen he wasn't a can't miss.

I was shocked at how good Williams tape was but I can't say the same about Walker. You add that to him missing some time ( sat the first half for some game this year) and the back up running back throwing down better yards per carry and although I'll get called for sour grapes I really think this was a smart move.
