Joseph Barksdale (OL Arizona Cardinals)

From the LSU site...again, JB has made his choice and it is one of OSU, MSU or LSU. He is not announcing until the AA game.

Again, don't even both asking if anything is new until we get to the AA game...and FWIW, I think he is a Buckeye.

Here is my uneducated speculation in regards to JB. MSU was not thought of as a possible destination for JB. Since the coaching change they have been gaining "momentum" or so they say. JB has already made up his mind in the last few days. I HIGHLY doubt that MSU was able to sway JB to them in the short period of time from the coaching change to when he decided...just a random thought on a slow work day

To me it is very simple and I think you are on the right track...here is my take on things:

1.) Who is the only school that has always been among his leaders? OSU.

2.) JT has an in-home with JB and his family, stays until 11 PM, JB has favorable remarks about the visit afterwards and days later says he has basically decided. Coincidence? I don't think so.

to add my 2 cents to this: barksdale loves the recruiting game. that's fine. however, in the last month, everyone except a few LSU homers had him pegged as a buckeye. this kid has been trying to build the drama surrounding his commitment for months. the wind has been out of those sails for a while. what's the best way to get that going again? pimp the in-state underdog. add that to what Wad posted above, and there's the scenario.

Yet there are still situations such as that which is being reported with Josh Brent (telling the staff for months he's a Buckeye apparently, then having a change of heart) and when you have a kid at a big position of need with dwindling "backup plans", then it can still make one's nerves uneasy. :paranoid:

I'm not in full recruiting paranoia just yet (too much energy spent in National Championship Paranoia right now ) but I'm sure once we win our game vs. the Crocs I'll spend plenty of sleepless nights worrying about the AA Game & NLOI day...including Mr. Barksdale. :wink2:

I believe the AA game is before the NC game... So we should know by our game Mr. Barksdale's intentions...

If there is one position on this football team that I will never worry about, its the D-Line...

Heacock is one of the most underappreciated coaches in the nation.
Absolutely. What he did with this defense this year is nothing short of amazing. I knew we'd be playing at a high level by the time November rolled around, but we were on from the start. Amazing work by Coach Heacock the assistants and the kids on D.

As for Mr. Barksdale, who can blame him for having fun during the recruiting process? That's a once in a lifetime chance for any kid who dreams of playing football for a living, and to get so much attention from so many programs is something special. May as well take full advantage. I also think he's a Buckeye FWIW (not much  ). We've been consistently among his top choices, and JT had a great visit. You'd look great anchoring a Buckeye D-Line Joseph. Follow your heart.

By Dave Biddle...more of the same.

This article proves what many (including tsteele) have been saying...Barksdale is trying to make sure no one knows where he is headed. After reading it, I think he is all Buckeye.

And again, don't bother asking me to elaborate on the article because it is premium info...and the "anything new?" jokes are getting a little played out. We will all know where he is headed in a few weeks.
