"I had my official visit to LSU on December 1. The team is losing two defensive ends, which means that I'll have a chance to contribute early there too. I've been to LSU many times. But I got an opportunity to get an inside view. I roomed by myself, but spoke to Michigan's Joseph Barksdale (Scout.com's ranked No. 11 four-star defensive tackle) and Texas' Terrance Toliver (Scout.com's ranked No. 1 five-star wide receiver) while we were hanging out with the team and our host Tyson Jackson (defensive end). They have both narrowed it down between LSU and Florida.

Recap of Luther Davis' visit to LSU. Im putting this here because it mentions how the LSU coaches wanted Davis to work on recruiting Barksdale to LSU (whom was visiting with him.) Believes that it will come down to LSU or OSU.

Im not too worried, but figured it was worth mentioning.

By the MSU site...LENGTHY article about how the Spartans are all of sudden a factor for Barksdale.

I don't see him at Michigan State...Sparty fans can get their hopes up but I would be surprised to see him turn down offers from USC, OSU, Texas, Michigan and Notre Dame to go to East Lansing. Just my humble opinion...

Agreed... Also, I'm always skeptical about articles that don't talk directly to the S.A.... Especially when the comments aren't coming from the head coach or a family member...

On my way home from work today, I heard on the radio (local station in East Lansing area) that Barksdale is looking at MSU all of a sudden. Apparently, Cass Tech went to a camp down at UC recently, and now that Dantonio's at MSU, Barksdale's interested. The reporter also said that Dantonio would be at some dinner in Detroit tonight at which Barksdale and other Detroit-area recruits would be in attendance. All of this information was reported by a guy from an MSU magazine, however, so there might have been a taint of homerism/wishful thinking.

Again, I think the most telling thing is that ONE school has been a constant on Joe's list throughout the whole process. Just think about the names that have come and gone....

My thoughts... If Joe has had OSU top 3 with ND, scUM, Texas, USC, LSU, MSU, among others I'm not gonna look up, all season long, and we lose him to Dantonio at MSU? I would call that a recruiting victory, whether or not we even got him. At that point, he wouldn't even really matter. At MSU. Good luck Mark.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. Remember, John L. isn't coaching anymore. Dantonio made a lot out of little in Cincy. Once he gets a few more players like Barksdale they'll be dangerous. Personally, I'd rather lose him to a Texas, ND, or USC since they're OOC.
