Hicks Set For Another Official Visit | Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting, OSU Big Ten Football, OSU Basketball – Bucknuts.com

Linebacker Jordan Hicks (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West), the No. 2 prospect on the ESPNU 150, is set for official visit No. 3 this weekend.

"He is headed to USC this weekend," Lakota West Coach Larry Cox said. "He leaves Friday morning."

Hicks has previously made official visits to Ohio State and Texas. He also has an official visit set to Florida for the weekend of Dec. 12.

When asked if Hicks will make an official visit to Alabama, Cox said, "That's on hold at this point."

Ya know, she wouldn't have to ever worry about that if he would just stay close to home and go to OSU.

You wonder if something like this really hits home and does honestly make them think that venturing that far could definitely pose some problems they didn't truely anticipate.

...let's hope so!

having looked into plane tickets to California recently, they aren't cheap, I can't imagine a family making that trip more than two or three times a year at the most unless they are very well off, if Jordan wants his parents to see him play or if his parents want to see him play that has to be a factor

I'm not sure that plane tickets for the family would be a huge problem for Jordan if he were to choose USC if you catch my drift.

Hicks Visit Plans Up In The Air | Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting, OSU Big Ten Football, OSU Basketball – Bucknuts.com

Late last week I posted a blog saying linebacker Jordan Hicks (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) was not going to make an official visit to USC and see the Trojans play UCLA. Hicks' mother was not able to make flight arrangements so Hicks called the visit off.

It remains to be seen if the trip is rescheduled. There is a possibility Hicks and his mother could visit USC this coming weekend, but that is far from a certainty at this point.

Hicks also remains unsure if he will make an official visit to Alabama. He is going to make an official visit to Florida the weekend of Dec. 12.

I would not be at all surprised if Hicks' trip to The Swamp is his last official visit. I have felt all along Hicks' decision will come down to Ohio State, Texas or Florida, and the Gators are the only one Hicks has not made an official visit with.

Hicks could wait and make an official visit or two in January, but I get the feeling he would prefer not to do that. I tend to think he tries to come up with a decision as soon as possible after visiting Florida, though he might not announce it right away.

LWHS coach calls heavily recruited 6-foot-2,
225-pound senior a
?once-in-a-lifetime player.

WEST CHESTER TWP. ? Jordan Hicks wishes he could?ve done better.

It was a banner year for the Lakota West High School senior outside linebacker in terms of recruiting, media attention and awards, and he helped the Firebirds capture a share of their first Greater Miami Conference football championship.

But Hicks shakes his head at what might have been.

?I guess that?s just how I am,? he said. ?I felt like last year I could?ve done more. The year before I could?ve done more. That?s just me. I?m always pushing myself to be the best I can be. I always feel like what I?ve done isn?t good enough. I?m always pushing myself for that next level.?

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Hicks accumulated nearly 100 tackles (13 for loss) and a pair of interceptions for West, which went 9-2 and lost to Anderson in the first round of the Division I playoffs.

The 2009 JournalNews Butler County Defensive Player of the Year is perhaps the state?s most coveted recruit, and he said he?s narrowed his college possibilities to Ohio State, Texas, Florida, USC and Alabama.

?Jordan?s your once-in-a-lifetime player,? Firebirds coach Larry Cox said. ?When I watched him as an eighth-grader, I knew he was going to be pretty special then.

?Following his sophomore year, he picked up five offers in the spring, the biggest one being UC,? he continued. ?I had some Big Ten schools saying, ?We?ll offer now, but we don?t have a chance at a kid like this.?

?I?ve just enjoyed watching Jordan grow and mature and become the young man that I thought he would be,? Cox added. ?It?s nice to know sometimes the plans work.?
