Yes, my point exactly. Whitfield bill 100/hr, S 4000/ week. 200k a year. I imagine getting urban meyer and staff as personal trainers would run you at least that, even for 1/85th of their time. Good thing the university is flipping that bill, or I dont think the players would be able to afford it. That is the biggest benefit to the players, proper NFL training.

Their President is a fucking imbecile. They had one who was really pushing academic improvements, so they naturally fired her and replaced her with an old school aggy, who marched them into the SEC while signing off wholeheartedly on Rick Perry's plan to turn the place into a $10K diploma mill.

Imagine the geeky, sometimes cringe inducing Gordon Gee with none of the behind the scenes strengths and talents. That's bowtie Loftin.

Aggy is a victim of the War on Terror-collateral damage one might say- when President Bush had to dump Rummy, he called upon the esteemed Robert Gates, who then left A&M to become Sec Def. As president of A&M, Gates had done much to improve the atmosphere and academics of the place. I think many assumed he would be invited back to his post at A&M when the Bush administration left DC. Instead, at the request of President Obama, Gates continued to serve as Sec Def long past his requested departure date .

In an age of political cynicism and opportunism, I consider Gates to be a true hero in the finest sense of the word.

I also doubt Perry wanted Gates back. Gates would have stood up to his "reform" plans and had the clout to do so pretty strongly. Perry is hellbent on turning A&M over to his for profit/online cronies and donors, and his handpicked "old army" aggy trustees are implementing the plan fully with bowtie Loftin's eager acceptance. They've already received a warning letter from the AAU and look for them to get the boot in the next few years after their best faculty and researchers start hitting the eject button. SEC!SEC!SEC!

As an aside on Gates, I agree that he redeemed himself very well with his second stint in government. That being said, the man was a complete fucking incompetent as DD/CIA and D/CIA in the late 80s.

Perhaps it took him some time to figure out how to survive in shark-infested waters. Having served six months as a coffee/water boy next door to the Pentagon I can tell you that cooperation is not the first thing on people's minds.

Wtf really??? He is a total douche bag who I would love to see harrassed and put in his place this weekend by bama. However you should never wish for that kind of injury to anyone. We almost lost our starting qb this past weekend for the year let alone him ever walking again. Tell that to the young man from Rutgers a few years ago or the high schooler that died this year from a neck injury.

I find your post completely distasteful. Besides people like Menziel often get what they deserve sooner than later.
