Any other program would have his ass riding pine with his backup taking future starting snaps.

It makes me wonder if Johnny has something on this program? Is the AD just telling the HC to 'shut up and color' and let Johnny be? Its really strange.

That bench meant nothing, there was only a few minutes left in the game and they had a huge lead. If he got called for a personal in the middle of the third, no way Sumlin has the balls to bench him. Sumlin needs to reign in that kid. I would have liked to see him pull a Bo Pelini, and grab Johnny's facemask and lay into him. If no one punishes that kid publicly, he'll never change. I can't wait to see him laying on his back in two weeks.

I wonder if Johnny knows that this attitude is costing him millions. He has the talent to be a first rounder (as a slot, not a quarterback), but that attitude often takes a kid down a round or two and the big signing bonus drops.

At this point, how could they reign him. The minute that he was reinstated without so much as missing a single snap for beating the crap out of a 40 year old man in a racial incident, it became clear that Johnny Messengill was running that program. You saw it again all Spring when they let him(?) take nothing but online classes while he was hanging out in bars, casinos and sporting events every week. The punk knows that he's running that program.

Funny thing is that texags--in their pathetic need for acceptance--actually thinks that all of America loves Johnny Handcramp.

I have a real hard time imagining Johnny football playing QB in the nfl, let alone after a position switch. No way does he play slot receiver, imo. I doubt he makes it as a QB either, though he will get a chance. Drew Brees does well as an undersized QB, but little Johnny does not possess the same kind of character, which will limit his development.

I agree. That "benching" came at a time when his team was up 20+ points and sealed victory. If this was Alabama, LSU, a close one against Arkansas, etc. he would still be playing. Kevin Sumlin will start having is authority and credibility called into question if Johnny Cockhand continues this BS with no consequences. Other players will begin to challenge Sumlin and the AD will have an even bigger mess on his hands.

As far as professional football goes, no way does Manziel make it in the NFL. Ive heard the same "yeah, but Drew Breese is undersized" excuse every year around draft time with guys like Clausen, Troy Smith, Tim Tebow, Quinn, etc.

I half concede. I thought fora second he would get a chance to play slot/pivot in the nfl. Similar to denard. Then i realize that there are probably a dozen guys in college ball that are actually playing that position that are better than him. But either way he will get drafted and someone will try him out. Its just harder to takea risk on someone when they have attitude/work ethic problems. I also suspect he may suffer from Tebowitis refusing to playa nything but qb and end up unemployed.

A lot of people are calling Johnny Manziel a jackass. That might be true and it might not be true, but in any case, he doesn’t seem to be going out of his way to change anybody’s mind about it. He’s probably not a bad person...
