Gary Trent's jersey is being hung in the rafters of the Convocation Center.

Eh, they should have put hung his jersey in Truedley. He liked to beat the shit out of his girlfriend there.

I think he's admitted as much, IIRC.

yeah. I beleive he was homeless for a stretch and then ended up living with his high school coach. He finally got his college degree recently and is a teacher at a youth center. I would consider him a success story based on where his life was headed in high school.

Crazy thing is that a hell of a lot of Ayers' recruits (after the classes he basically inherited from Gary Williams) were just as bad as Trent...and didn't clean up their acts in college.

Irony can be a bitch sometimes.

I have a lot of respect for Derek Anderson. He clearly came up to Columbus, saw a program full of thugs and got the hell out. He, however, never badmouthed Ohio State or went out of his way to do any "tell all" interviews.

He took a lot of heat from the Ohio State fanbase for leaving, but in hindsight and considering the trajectory of most of his teammates, certainly had a good reason to abandon that sinking ship.

From who? Specifically? I don't remember anyone badmouthing him. Even the douchebags I went to school with that talk shit about everything were rooting for Kentucky in the tourney because D.A. played for them.

Also, hard to believe he didn't notice they were thugs until they got in trouble with the law. He didn't transfer until everyone was suspended and in trouble.

I like D.A., but seems to me he came to tOSU to flip the bird at Kentucky for not naming him Mr. Bball and bailed as soon as it wasn't all sunshine and lollipops. But whatever.

He may just not have wanted to get shot in the ass.

Or was that a football player?

Or was that a football player by a basketball player, I never can remember.
