Jimmy Clausen (Baltimore Ravens)

I hope this isn't the case but.......

Ron Paulus..cough cough...who said anything about Ron Paulus? As far as I know, he is still working on the first of three heisman's, right Beano? "Noootrah Dahme"

This was kinda in response to this post:
Especially if he turns out to be as overrated as his two brothers.

Its obvious right now that Fulmer is under a ton of pressure to bring the program back to where it was in the late 90's. Its the first time personally I have heard of 5 teammates being offered in the hopes of landing one prospect.
I can't say much for the other 4 teammates, but the RB is a stud. Should be a 5 star. So it's not like they are offering just because they want to lure the QB.

Sunshine Preps has some video of Jimmy. They are about useless though. The whole video he is throwing dump passes, screens, or the guy is WIDE open. I would say not impressed but I'll hold back since the video probably isn't his best stuff.

Clausen 3/25

Jimmy plays with the best high school talent that money can recruit. There are 10-12 legit D-1 prospects on that team, and three kids who'll likely be rated as 5* prospects in the class of 2007 in Jimmy Clausen, Marc Tyler, and Marshall Jones. The competition that Jimmy plays against isn't that good to be honest, but he dominates his competition, which you either do or don't, and Jimmy certainly does. I don't think he's as good as some of these yahoo's are saying (best HS recruit ever yadda yadda yadda) but he's pretty damn good. I personally think the best prospect on his team is Marshall Jones, who could play WR/S/CB/LB in college, depending on how much he grows. Marshall runs a 10.5 in the 100 meters and he's 6-1, 200 pounds so he's a pretty scary athlete to say the least. Jimmy will be just fine in college, but if people (when I say people I really mean ND fans, Tom Lemming, and Beano Cook) are expecting him to "win three Heisman's" or be the greatest college QB ever, they are way off base.

I agree. Like during the Army All American game, when Lemming said that Jimmy Clausen was the best player in the country, regardless of position or class. Give me a break...

Yeah that was pretty pathetic when Tom Lemming just wouldn't shut up about Jimmy. I like Jimmy as much as the next guy, but best high school QB and best high school player in the country regardless of class like Lemmonhead said on air? No way. I think Andre Smith was the best high school football player in the nation last year (with Chris Wells close behind I might add) and I don't think Jimmy is as college ready as either of those two guys. The top QB prospect in 2006, Matt Stafford, is a better prospect than Jimmy in my mind. I also tend to like the top QB prospect in 2005, Mark Sanchez better than Jimmy. Sanchez played against some of the best high school competition in the country and put up some playstation numbers. So while Jimmy certainly is a great QB prospect, he's hardly the greatest ever and you've got two QB's in the last two classes (Sanchez, Stafford) that you could argue were better in high school. Conclusion, Jimmy is good, not Jesus playing high school football.

Henton is very similiar to Troy Smith and I'm happy to have him on our team. He seems to have decent straight line speed at 4.6 and great lateral moves(if you've seen his video, you know what I'm talkin about). Actually, Henton is much more of a polished passer at the highschool level than Smith was. Give him a year under the wing of Troy Smith and time to work out with the team and he could run away with the show as a RS Freshman in 07. It may not be likely with Boeckman and Schoenhoft having the heads start by 2 and 3 years, but if he can translate his performance as a player to the college gridiron he will be seriously dangerous. As for 07 recruiting, I like the thought of bringing in Sam Proctor because he is an Antonio Bass/Carlos Brown type of guy. He's got some experience playing QB and has just as much running out of that position. If he can work on his passing skills he will be very, very good to have at QB. If he stays as an athlete type player, I'm all for him as well.
