Jimmy Clausen (Baltimore Ravens)

Wait a minute... I thought Ron Powlus was going to win 3 Heismans? :)

I heard a very interesting story about the Clausen's from someone close to the South Carolina program. Let's just say that Spurrier feels he was lucky he didn't get a committment from the Clausens (get Jimmy you get Mr. Clausen too).

I don't mean to brag, but ask BP member Acexline...I do the world's greatest impersonation of a pre-gout Beano Cook claiming that "Ron Powlus will win three Heisman trophies while at Notre Dame"...

Now 45, it can't be THAT accurate... I know you don't have the 6 chins that old Beano has ...

Good luck to Jimmy at ND... With as high profile as his recruitment's been, the kid is going to have a huge target on his chest (not the "S" on his chest like some ND fans think)...

This article was never linked, but if you have Scout access and want to read about the Clausen PR circus, I highly recommend this as good bathroom material (figuratively and literally).

Not sure if anyone is watching this game on ESPN...But Clauseen is surrounded by a mass amount of talent. His rb(Marc Tyler) really looks to be a stud.

As for Clausen kid has an amazingly quick release and a strong arm. I still question the lack of competition vs. the mass amount of talent he has on his team, and also all the pr type stuff he has surrounding him.

I will say the physical tools are there, but it is hard to get a read on his overall qb skills in terms of being able to read a defense, step up in the pocket, elude the rush, and his ability to live up to a ton of hype that he has surrounding him.

I still take Korn ahead of him tho. I would put him ahead of Mallett tho.

CFN 2007 Heisman candidates. Hype machine's already running outta control...

24. Jimmy Clausen, QB Notre Dame
Pencil in here whoever the Irish starting quarterback will be. It might not be Clausen, a true freshman, right off the bat, but he'll be the front-runner for the 2009 Heisman.

I wish negative on VERY few people in this world...but out of spite, Clausen has entered the ring of few.

Don't get me wrong, I hope he stays healthy and has a great job outside of football, but on the field, I hope he pulls a Pawlus times ten.

His brothers didn't do much with all of their hype...
