Actually alot of fans around her have been sort of turned off by the whole press conference/rings/media thing. I still think he will have a very hard time beating out Demetrious Jones who has 4 years of playing time left.

excellent call on demetrious jones.

i have a bunch of ND fan friends, work for a trustee of ND who has a building named after him, and follow them somewhat myself just because it is topical.

everything i hear is that it is going to be tough for clausen to beat out jones. beat off perhaps with that wrist position and those rings, but that is much different than beating him out.

my ND friend said the same thing last weekend...right now we is expecting Jones to have the inside track for the starting job next year.

Boy... It's too bad Jones is going to play QB because Tom Lemming says the he will be the next Randy Moss if he plays WR... I can't believe the Irish are so deep at WR that they couldn't use the next Randy Moss... (sarcasm font off)

I think it would be best for Clausen to redshirt... With all the hype surrounding him, if he gets thrown to the wolves right away on a team that has a lot of question marks and under-performs to ND fans' expectations, it could severely bruise his ego, errr, I mean confidence ()...

Clausen among three enrolling early at Notre Dame

Three of Notre Dame's top prep football recruits, including quarterback Jimmy Clausen, got an early jump on their college careers on Tuesday.

Clausen, of Westlake Village, Calif., joined running back Armando Allen of Hialeah, Fla., and cornerback Gary Gray of Columbia, S.C., for early enrollment at Notre Dame and started classes on Tuesday. They're the second group of recruits to do so, following running back James Aldridge, offensive lineman Chris Stewart and receiver George West a year ago.
