Yep, especially jazz. My contention is that music Fetish, Buckbri and others celebrate as "80's" music has its roots in the musical explosion that took place in the period of 1965 - 1975. But beyond that, the era was responsible for a change in all the musical and art forms. I would also add that while some do not like Dylan's voice, his genius is present in most of the groups and music being touted by fans of the 80s.

In the meantime, is there anyway Florida can somehow pull a win out of their ass? Unfortunately looks like it's going to take at least two upsets to get the Buckeyes into the final four with the can of whup ass TCU opened on the 'horns last night.

Everything comes from something before it and most people seems to think that the music that was popular while their brains were developing (pre-teen through 22 or so) is the bestest music evaahh. There's probably a biological reason for that. Boomers, of course, are especially outstanding at being sure that nothing happened before them and that everything that came after was only made possible by midgets standing on their shoulders.

The best of the 60s music came from across the pond. Why American baby boomers get so arrogant about "their" music has always baffled me. You imported your music from the UK.
And the bands stole their music from black Mississippi Delta blues men. So what's your point?

It's neither American white baby boomers' music nor Brit rockers' music. It's the music of Robert Johnson, Memphis Minnie and Muddy Waters. Those worthies look nothing like me, so I won't take any credit, but they look fuck-all like Mick, Ringo, Paul, or Winwood either.
