I'd say the real Buckeye fans (not commentators) who wanted to "clean house" probably felt the same sense of grief weeks ago that most others are just arriving at today.

I don't think anybody within the Buckeye fan base was wishing for this or is happy about it. They just saw Coach Tressel's continued employment as untenable to both him and the university - and apparently over the weekend some of the actual stakeholders came to agree with that opinion.

1. It wasn't the kids who caused Tressel's ouster. It was the fucking media whores who think nothing about ruining people's lives for the sake of a story and of stirring up controversy. I hope we can all remember that as the talents of Pryor, Posey et al are discussed in the months to come.

2. Jim Tressel remains, in my eyes, an outstanding coach and fine man who made one huge mistake and is paying an overly severe price for doing so. Godspeed, Coach Tressel. Hope you are able to put this whole thing into good perspective and move forward in your life to do more good works for young people.

It just shows outside of the OSU family, people don't know what kind of a coach and even more, what kind of a person Tress is. No one outside of OSU understand what he did for the university and community. The media and dumbasses focus on negativity

Player bashing isn't allowed on this forum, but my fucking god, there are certain players (both former and current) whom I wish had never become part of this team.

Everyone here KNOWS who they are, and they were and are a goddamn cancer for this program and ended the career of one of the most upstanding public figures in sports. For a man like Coach Tressel to have to give up his career for those who would sell their memorabilia and take shortcuts and take bribes... it makes me fucking sick.

See you in 14 days.

It's understandable to feel that way. Today is the toughest day we've had in and with the program in a long time, and it's going to take a while for us to digest it. Let's all do our best (as I think you've at least tried here -- not singling out specific kids) to keep our emotions in check, and there's no reason at all for anyone to 'throw themselves into the tempban volcano' just to try and make a point that a lot of others may (or may not) be feeling. There's a TON to talk about, and no one should be forcing a vacation on themselves.

We, as fans, had nothing to do with what led to this. As fans, we know the program is going to move forward and there are going to be brilliant times ahead. Just like we know we're in for more pain first. Hang in there.

I hope Tressel coaches again in the college game. John Calipari went to the NBA for awhile and came back. Although he was never found or charged with doing anything wrong personally, he is labeled a cheater,simply from the media whores who change the mindset of the nation. The media drives this machine till enough pressure is induced to cause a fine man and great coach of young men to simply give up to stop and give their family relief. I havent heard one story of the many fine humanitarian things JT done. Calipari raised 1.5 mil for Haiti, money for Alabama and Missouri tornado victims, you just dont hear these stories.
