This man has never been selected Big Ten Coach of the Year. :roll1:

Doesn't say much for the judgment of either the media or his fellow coaches.

Once again, this team may end up ranked in the top 5.

All I know is that this coach is a rare, successful leader who combines a good moral compass with an approach to life that links hard work, learning, and preparation with winning. He is an example to his players and fans. I am so glad that he is coaching Ohio State.

Consider it a pontifical situation, but the Big Ten coaches should line up and kiss his rings for dismantling the monkey on the Big Ten's back in the Rose Bowl.

Amen.

Great job, Coach Tressel. The boys were well prepared, and it showed.

We as fans are very lucky to have such a high caliber coach. He is a class act all the way.We as fans may never see one here as good.I hope he does not leave us too soon.:osu:

A long long time ago Penn State Nation was calling for Joe Pa to run for govenor of Pennsylvania and naturally he declined. And as we all know
Jim has a nickname that goes by "Senator. But this would be a fitting and
proper way for Coach Tressel to leave Ohio State Thats how much this
man means to the State of Ohio. He was the same way at Youngstown and even people then were saying this guy could run for a candidate in the Senate seat in Ohio. If he ever leaves coaching at Ohio State no one could even begin to fill his shoes. The only thing that i could think of for him to leave would be if Ohio State won another N/C and TP winning the Heisman
that same year.

Jim Tressel:
9 Seasons
94-21 (.817) Overall
59-13 vs. Big Ten
8-1 vs. scUM
6 Big Ten Titles (5 straight)
1 National Title (3 NCG Appearances)
7 BCS Bowls (4 Wins)
5 Bowl Wins
7 Ten win seasons
7 Top Ten finishes (AP)
6* Top Five finishes (AP/Coaches)

Ladies and gents, we are a spoiled, spoiled fanbase. For all the frustration we feel at times...there's no arguing with those results. Just trust the vest. If you would have showed me these numbers in January 2001 and said this is what we were in store for, I would have soiled myself.

* = assuming top 5 finish this season, which appears very likely.

Didn't see it mentioned... but I loved how JT didn't let John Saunders drag him into the terrible questions he asked... he just complimented his team and the opponent and how he was going to enjoy last night and the win... What a Class Act.
