Jim Tressel (National Champion, ex-President, Youngstown State University, CFB HOF)

What an ambassador for the university. It seems that there is always a steady stream of positive deeds coming from our coaches and players. We're blessed to cheer for good people.

The thing i admire the most is the fact that Coach Tress and his staff AND his players are doing these good deeds behind the scene. It's not their intention to have the things they do be reported by the press. They didn't make a big headline when they first sent that "mystery" box. If it's not for the family and the church, the story probably would be going on unnoticed, AND that would be just fine with Coach Tress.

Love Coach Tress. Love my Ohio State Buckeyes.

Today's win over Illinois is number 500 for the Tressel family, the only father son combo to win national collegiate football titles.

The bests and worsts from Ohio State-Illinois
By Mary Schmitt Boyer, The Plain Dealer

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Some observations in the wake of the Buckeyes' 30-0 rout.

BEST LEGACY

With Jim Tressel's 221st win on Saturday, the Tressel family became just the second father-sons combination in NCAA history to record 550 victories. Bobby, Tommy and Terry Bowden had 589 victories as of Saturday noon.

Lee Tressel started the family tradition by compiling a 155-52-6 record at Baldwin-Wallace from 1958-80. Dick Tressel went 124-102-2 from 1978-2000 at Hamline, while Jim Tresell is now 221-77-2 from 1986-2000 at Youngstown State and 2001-2009 at Ohio State.

Lee and Jim Tressel are the only father-son combination to win national championships. Lee Tressel did it in 1978, while Jim won four at Youngstown State (1991, 1193, 1994 and 1997) and one at Ohio State in 2002.

You know I stop and wonder for a brief second, but can anyone actually visualize or picture an Ohio State team not being led by Jim Tressel? I honeslty can't, but if someone can please tell me who...

Also, do not tell me Urban Meyer, I'm sick to my stomach thinking that some Buckeye fans actually want Meyer as our coach.... :sad2: I guess 41-14 didn't mean anything to them...

BuckeyeXtra - Pouring it on: Defense shows Illini who's boss

Afterward, there was no dancing on logos, but there was frolicking in the Ohio State locker room. Even Tressel got in on the act.
"He was pretty excited. He was down there dancing," Pryor said. "He was spinning around and doing all kinds of stuff, and we were dancing with him."

I would love to have seen this, the ultra conservative coach dancing and spinning with his players. Priceless. Congrats on the win Coach!

Sorry dude, if there were any other HC in CFB that I would want coaching tOSU than Tress, it would be Urban. As "flashy" as the guys offenses are, he is huge on fundamentals just like JT. He puts as much into Special Teams as any other coach like JT and Beamer. The dude is a winner. Yeah, he can be an ass at times, but he can coach well. One of the only things that would help me get over 41-14 would be to get Meyer. Dude is an Ohio native, has proven he can win, motivate, and recruit, focuses on fundamentals, ST, and has an interesting offensive philosophy. But that's just my opinion...

And no. I can't visualize a team not led by Tressel, outside of Cooper... sadly

41-14 should have meant that Urban Meyer has a soft spot for JT and the OSU program to anyone who was watching. He could have made it much worse.

I don't want anyone in overall charge of our program more than JT but if you gave me my pick and said it had to happen I'm taking Meyer.
