Yep. You didn't hear anything about SEC dominance until after the butt-raping by Florida.

I told that Sparty girl I am dating to prepare for the worst.

FSU isn't SEC. I think the thought was out long before that game only it went by the words Southern Speed.

I was stationed in the South in the late 60s and again in the 70s and the perception among the Rebel flag bunch was that "Those boys up north just don't play with the same intensity." And, "You may like football up north, but down here it's religion." And, "Your boys just don't seem to hit as hard."

"The reason people don't like Jim Bollman, number one I think it's because everything fell apart in 2011 after Jim Tressel left," said Doug Lesmerises, who has covered the Buckeyes for The Plain Dealer since 2005. "And that has skewed the view of what they did here for a decade.

Disagree. I was frustrated with Bollman well before 2011. 2011 might have been the last straw, but the lack of development and the consistent underachievement of the o-line for the better part of a decade is why people don't like Jim Bollman.

Andre Wadsworth threw poor Joe Germaine around the Superdome like a rag doll.

If I'm not mistaken, it was that game which changed Ohio State's D-Line philosophy. Prior to that game, if memory serves, the D-Line was essentially the same 4 players every snap of every game, more or less. Afterwords, a two deep rotation was employed in an effort to keep fresh legs against the opposing O-Line.

The misery of Jim Bollman was never meant to be confined to one fan base.

Already done. You think it was miserable rooting for Ohio State with him as the OC? Think about just how many teams LOST to a team that had him calling the plays.

It must have been like grabbing Warren's earmuffs for them. They never saw it coming.
