Jim Bollman (Stay calm and run Dave)

I really believe that Bollman is a classic case of the "Peter Principle":

i.e. "You do a good job and you keep getting promoted until you reach your level of incompetency".

Given the right circumstances he could be a decent OL coach; however, as an OC he is in way over his head.

When he was at Ohio State we had a annual area of concern or outright weakness - the OL line play - despite high level recruiting. I doubt there are such a thing as the right circumstances.

So we're grave-digging month old threads to rag on a guy. Why, exactly?

Because I almost went to prison for plotting a murder due to the frustration of watching Dave, Dave, incomplete pass or sack, punt. Repeat. The frustration still needs vented. :)

Dantonio: 4th and 1, Coach Bollman. What should we call?

Bollman: SUPER DAVE. GOTTA BE READY. GOTTA BE READY TO RUN SUPER DAVE. SUPER DAVE.

Sparty: WE'RE READY FOR SUPER DAVE.

Guard doesn't clear his block and backside defender stops undersized tailback for loss. Turnover on downs.

So to paraphrase Bollman: "You gotta be ready to go!"...To paraphrase the player's reaction: "What Coach Bollman brings to the field is a body. He is a person and to be a coach, you have to be a person. He brings a new face here."
