Look at the National championship gear we all bought.

Black hat, gold writing stating national champs, and a small logo of the school on the side.
Black shirt, gold writing stating national champs, and a small logo.

Everything is generic with the ability to add the logo of the school. It used to be at least the color of the shirts were the colors of the schools.

This. When someone who isn't a Buckeye fans aware of the jersey change for the PSU game tunes in for it, their initial response is going to be "I thought Ohio State is supposed to be playing Penn State"...

You can't be serious. Championship swag has absolutely zilch to do with the team's uniform...

If it is worn at most once per season, and preferably once every other season, I don't have an issue with it. But if this turns into 2-3 times a year like we have before with other special uniforms THEN I will be majorly annoyed by it. That's where I am. I like them, but sure as heck don't love them. And I could see why others strongly dislike them. But if this stops someone from watching a game, then that's just silly. Didn't see that here, but have elsewhere.

Edit: On a side note, if LeBron goes to this game (usually has gone to one game a year, and PSU game falls during pre-season) combined with the black jerseys and night game, will be a HUGE recruiting weekend. And that's 99.9% of what this is for. Probably 100%, but I'll leave room for error.

The difference I see is that a jersey is supposed to be representative of the university, school colors and all...swag isn't, but rather more representative of the game that was played.

And then the next question about the laziness would be the color red they us for the numbers. The twitter pic shows a lighter red I think than the red we normally use. If it's just a generic red, that's where I start to have issues.

I don't mind alternate unis but at least try to keep some semblance of the team that's wearing them.

You're entitled to your opinion, and obviously it means next to nothing to anyone that makes decisions for OSU athletics. And yes you'll deal with it like any other fan, because you'll be watching the game like everyone else and rooting for OSU. It's a one game thing, get over it

I fucking hate them but what are you going to do?

We wore some incredibly stupid looking shit in the 80's thinking it was just cool as cool could be while our parents shook their heads and laughed.

They were right then and we are right now. This all black thing will be like parachute pants some day and I'm going to rub some faces in it when that day comes. :)

Till then who cares, we all root for the same team
