We also added Buckeye leaves to the back last year and are changing it again to just say "Buckeyes" on the collar this year. Change is constant and one game doesn't affect our tradition.

The players love it and that's really all that matters. They are the ones wearing them.

While I get your point, our uniforms have never changed from scarlet. I mean, black isn't even a school color. Grey, while still horrible, would have been a better choice for the alternate color.

Prostituting the brand for more money and better recruits is also a tradition.

Unless we're going back to Russell or Champion tear-aways & fish net jerseys with shoulder pads that look four sizes too big on all the skill players, I don't really care what they wear anymore. I've become uniform fatigued since 2006.

I've never much liked changing our sweet uniforms - still wish we had the big numbers and actual silver looking pants - but the black jersey for its use doesnt hurt my feelings too much. Dont want it all the time but for a PSU drubbing and recruiting boon, I can live with it.

The helmets on the other hand......... NO. :pissed:

If you cover up the tiny OSU patch (which is not visible on TV other than an ultra close-up), that jersey can be worn by literally thousands of teams in many different sports. That's outrageously lazy.

As is the laughable "but the kids like it" defense. The kids like a lot of things that marketing departments tell them to like. They would have liked almost any variation with black, meaning they could have deployed a competent, OSU-centric design and still achieved all of the sizzle silliness for recruiting, sales and OMG!MOARBLACK!!!

I'm not against black unis. I'm against pathetic, lazy designs.
