Does anyone think that Boals would consider the Miami University job if they were to come knocking? A friend who was on staff for several years under Coles says that if Miami was going to hire from within, they would have already done so, and that Coles' health and the lack of a succession plan has really hurt their recruiting the past few years. So the cupboards will not be full (even relatively speaking for a mid-major). My friend says that Boals is high on Miami's list.

My understanding was that they would "give" the position to Todd Lickliter.

Is there reason to think differently other than pure speculation?

The first thought that came to my mind when I saw that Coles was retiring was that Boals would get the job. He has familiarity with the MAC then this would be a nice step for his career. There would certainly be a blow to our program and it would be interesting to see who Matta would bring in to replace him.

The job Coach Boals should wait for is at OU. Groce is recruiting well and with the job he's doing, can't be long for Athens. It's a great situation to step into, and the alumi will love Jeff for returning home.

I'm always happy to see Assistant's get promotions... the Thad Matta tree grows! I'm sure if this does happen, Thad will get another great Assistant, or promote Paulas.
