Jeff Boals (HC Ohio Bobcats)

Boals not leaving

Feel bad for Boals because all coaches desire to be head coaches but I am sure glad it looks like he will be staying at Ohio State

:)
Texas assistant Rodney Terry will be introduced today as Fresno State's new basketball coach, according to the Fresno Bee.

Terry and Ohio State assistant Jeff Boals were the two finalists for the job and interviewed on campus the past two days. North Carolina assistant Jerod Haase was not brought to campus, an athletic department official told a Fresno television reporter.

? Kent State hired Rob Senderoff as its men's coach. He had been the interim coach after Geno Ford left last week to take the job at Bradley.

It is all falling per the plan. Now if Groce can have a great season next year at Ohio so he can get a job offer, then Boals can come home

I was at the game at St. Johns in 1994 when Boals, Gary Trent, Geno ford, Gus Johnson, and Jason Terry beat OSU in the Pre-Season NIT.

Boals blew his knee out a few games later and they didn't seem to be the same team after that. He was the blue collar guy that did all the dirty work for that team.

:pissed: Don't fucking remind me!!!! I was a student there at the time. I was at that game and went to the next game in Virginia to watch that ass kicking. After the pre-season NIT Ohio was the #10 team in the country.

I was at the game that Boals blew out his knee, it was one of the first games of the MAC conference schedule. Boals was our favorite player back then. He did ALL the little things that made that team go. We went into a tailspin after that and finally got things turned around by the end of the season. Then we threw up on ourselves in the 1st round of the MAC tournament at home, all we needed was 1-2 more wins in the MAC tourney and we were an at-large team.

My fellow alums still play the what-if game with that team.

Indeed. I was also at that game and a group of us went to NYC for the pre-season NIT. The other game I remember from that season was at UK, where after getting their asses handed to them all game, Bobcats managed to claw back to a tie game with 2:00 to go. When they hit the shot to tie it all up, the UK crowd went so quiet that you could finally hear the dozen or so OU fans stuffed way up in the rafters.
