Jaylan Knighton (RB SMU)

Lets see where it stands when we start hot and FSU is struggling for 500

Frankly, Knighton might be FSU's best bet to have a successful running game. He's a smaller back with a low center of gravity, power, and speed.
If your O-line can't open up holes ... the next best thing is a RB small enough to hide from a defense who has the ability to bounce the ball outside and slime his way through cracks for yards.

He's a stud, and one I was actually more giddy for than Robinson ... who I feel still has to prove he can run between the tackles at the next level against elite speed LBers and Safeties who will actually make an attempt to tackle him.
But If Knighton goes to FSU and Ohio State ends up with a guy like Smith, both programs might be getting the back they really needed in the first place.

Wish the kid nothing but luck. Absolutely love the attitude he plays with. His highlights are fun to watch.

I echo the same sentiment, he was the one I wanted the most out of the class, he would have DESTROYED the B1G. Hopes he has a change of heart, if not good luck to him.

Yeah, he has special written all over him with his combination of power and speed. Don't get me wrong, Robinson is special too ... just for different reasons.
I would gladly take either, even today. Truth is that this years class is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to RBs. It's going to be a year where just about everyone grabs a RB and feels like they won the day, the talent pool is that deep. It really comes down to WHAT tangibles you are looking at for the position. 'Cuz there are just all kinds of good backs with very different styles this year.

Funny how recruiting makes fans forget about the players currently on the roster. I’m not denying Knighton being good, but you’re forgetting all about Khalon Laborn, who if he healthy forces Knighton to probably redshirt, and Cam Akers is still at Free Shoes.
Regardless, best of luck to a Knighton, because he definitely committed to a program and not a coach, Free Shoes is going to be a dumpster fire for a while

I like Knighton more than Robinson too......it’s a special attribute to run with the power he does at 5’9” and 194lbs.

By time he gets meaningful snaps at FSU he’ll likely be 5’10” and 210lbs.

He’s got that Kareem Hunt, Priest Holmes, Marshall Faulk element to his game. Can run between the tackles but has the breakaway speed to get an off tackle run and house it.

I have same concerns about some others with Bijan. He’s more physically built right now, but doesn’t run with nearly the authority of Knighton. He makes guys miss in hole and is gone....which is nice. But that isn’t happening with ease at next level.

I think Knighton has a higher floor, but maybe a lower ceiling.....but if I were a college program, I’d take Knighton. I want a guy who is fearless in the hole.
