Javon Ringer (Former RB Michigan St.)

Conleys' recent comments definitely seem questionable and speculative at best lately. If Javon shows his rehab is going well and has even close to 100% or better of his strength back ... he should get an offer. He is so very strong and definitely seems to have that vision Tressel always wants in a RB.

yes i agree, but how does the 06 group of backs look, if we can lock down a few guys for this year (gwatnely or however its spelled and wells/ringer both longshots) do you think it is worth us takin him with an 06 scholie?
Yes, but only if we do get a few of those guys you mention.

interesting implications... IMO

if USC felt confident they had Mo Wells, they wouldn't be reaching out to a similar style back

if tOSU didn't feel so confident they had Mo Wells, they would be offering Ringer

Good for Javon! This coaching staff hasn't had a problem in the past offering a kid with an injury. Hopefully a Buckeye offer comes once everything is settled grade wise. It's clear if he doesn't get one he'll certainly have plenty of other options.

I think they should offer Ringer anyway. It's not like there isn't any room in the backfield and the other backs the staff are in on aren't exactly sure things, Wells included.

Very true... but with only 8 or 9 schollies left.. how many backs would they consider... is 3, 4 too many... let's dream for a minute... J-Stew, Ringer, Wells and possibly one more?! There's going to be a BIG vacuum at LB coming.. I can hear it now... There is a BIG vacuum at RB right now..

A little comparison between the two:

Ringer: 5'11", 190, 4.48.
Wells: 5'10", 185, 4.38.

They are nearly identical in size and speed (they both are listed at 4.44 in the 40 on Rivals, so I take Well's 4.38 with a grain of salt). The big difference to me is Ringer's professed desire to be a Buckeye, and he's an Ohio boy. If we've offered Wells, we should've offered Ringer.

Mili.. interesting comparison on the stats.. but lay in Sutton... and he's a clone to these two... obviously it has to be the subjective elements each brings to the party and how the staff rate those elements... plus I'm sure the coaches want to bring in FL talent to keep that spiggot open... they seem to 'budget' 2 or 3 FL stars per class...

bottom line... I will be beyond amazed if Ringer is not S&G come Feb..
